‘FIFA 17’ Made Available for a 10-Hour Free Trial Per Player During the Thanksgiving Weekend

It may be a way for game publisher EA Sports to further hype its football simulation game “FIFA 17” or it could also be a promotion offer to entice loyal gamers of its competitor game “Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) 2017” to consider checking its main rival but a free trial for “FIFA 17” is available this Thanksgiving weekend.

EA Sports announced on November 23 that a free trial for “FIFA 17” will be made available for PS4 and Xbox One players beginning at 6 pm GMT on November 24 all the way to 7:59 am GMT on November 27 or nearly 62 hours of free trial.

However, it should be noted that each gamer is allowed to play only a full 10-hour trial during the Thanksgiving weekend and nothing more, notes VG 24/7.

The trial gives a player access to the full “FIFA 17” game including new story mode The Journey, the Ultimate Team, career mode, and more.

The limitations of the free trial

If the gamer is an EA Access subscriber on Xbox One who already finished up his 10 hours of the pre-launch trial, he would not be eligible for the offer. In addition, only a limited portion of The Journey mode will be available on either platform, but the player would get unrestricted access to the rest of the modes.

It should be noted as well that any progress that the players make will carry over to the full game if he decides to buy it.

It’s also worth noting that “FIFA 17” is on sale almost everywhere, including digitally on Xbox Live, and soon on the PlayStation Network. After all, Black Friday sales usually last until Monday, too, so players are covered in case they need to buy it after the trial period is over, notes Polygon.

The full “FIFA 17” game is a 42GB download. Video game critics have actually given “FIFA 17” a rating of 9.0, with 10 being the highest, but thus far, it seems that “PES 2017” has taken a slight advantage.

Good discounts for ‘FIFA 17’

“FIFA 17” has been released by EA Canada late in September but Microsoft has been selling the game to its Xbox Live Gold members at a huge discount of between 25% to 35% early this month.

It should be noted however that the discount is only good for a week or until November 7 so Xbox Live members made hay while the sun shone.

In addition to “FIFA 17,” Microsoft also offered killer deals and great discounts on other sports games from EA Sports including “Madden NFL 17” and “NHL 17.”

Critics and gaming enthusiasts were one in saying that those were all good discounts because the games were mostly selling for the full price at retail and the fact that they are relatively new.

There were also other games in the two lists, one for the Xbox One and one for Xbox 360. In the list for Xbox One, other popular games included “Borderlands: The Handsome Collection,” “Evolve,” “Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride,” “Maldita Castilla EX,” and “Pumped BMX+.”

The list of discounted games for the Xbox 360 for Xbox Live Gold members which ranges from 50% to as high as 85% price off included “Bellator: MMA Onslaught,” “Conan,” “de Blob 2,” “Deadliest Warrior,” “Deadliest Warrior Legends,” “Red Faction: Guerilla,” and “Ugly Americans: Apocalysegeddon.”

FIFA 17

Meanwhile, the servers of “FIFA 17” and the first-person shooter video game “Battlefield 1” also from EA, went down again on October 31, which made it the third time in a span of two days that the problem occurred.

As a result, gamers have since flooded the page of EA Support with numerous complaints.

“Battlefield 1” servers were patchy over the course of that weekend, as players struggled to connect to the game, especially on the PlayStation 4.

Gamers have likewise complained that they were unable to play “FIFA 17” and “Madden NFL 17” online.
