Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson revealed that he is open to the possibility of a spin-off featuring his character Luke Hobbs, but he admits that it might happen after the final “Fast and Furious” trilogy.
Gray was also tight-lipped on when filming will officially commence, but given that the movie is slated to be released on April 14, 2017, reports are rife that production should start in the middle of this year so it could meet its target release date.
Reports have also surfaced that the production team has already scouted Cuba as a potential shooting location, now that the United States has lifted the embargo on the country. But Gray declined to confirm this report when asked.
Reports note that since 2011’s “Fast Five,” Toretto and his crew have taken on bigger and more dangerous adventures. It was also in that film that they have introduced Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s Hobbs into the franchise.
Some speculations also say that Gray might bring “Fast & Furious 8” back to the franchise’s street racing roots especially since Diesel has the desire to bring the film to New York City.
Fans have commented that it would be really nice to see Dominic Toretto driving past the iconic Empire State Building, the busy streets of Manhattan, or even through the boroughs of the Big Apple.
