‘Fast & Furious 8’ Vin Diesel Just Confirmed that He Wants Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor Back in the Film

Since the release of “Fast & Furious 7” last year, talks have been circulating about the participation of Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor in the upcoming eighth installment of the action-ensemble franchise.

It has been said then that “Fast & Furious 7” is the last for Paul Walker and his Brian O’Connor character in the movie franchise. In fact, towards the end of the movie, the producers and Vin Diesel’s Dominic Torreto have sent off the character very well through that touching “One Last Ride” scene at the end film’s end.

Vin Diesel even said as a producer that “Fast & Furious 7” was the last for Paul Walker and the next sequel would be in his honor.

Paul Walker met his demise in a road accident along with his friend Roger Rodas in November 2013. He was still in the middle of filming “Fast & Furious 7” back then so the producers asked his brothers Cody and Caleb to stand in for the movie on behalf of their brother. With the help of CGI and the brothers, the movie was able to recreate Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor in the film and completed it without even killing off his character.

It seems that Vin Diesel might have indirectly confirmed that Brian O’Connor shall be returning to “Fast & Furious 8” when Cody and Caleb Walkers recently confirmed that the action star has called them up to inform them of their late brother’s participation in the movie, reports the Morning Ledger.

Cody disclosed that Universal Pictures wants to make sure that they would be respectful of Paul and his image, as well as his family.

He added that he had a phone call with Vin for about an hour and they discussed the matter. He said that the “The Last Witch Hunter” actor wanted permission and if it would be acceptable again to the Walker family if they could bring back Paul’s character in the next film and just let his fans know that he is still out there.

Trusted his vision for the franchise

In a recent posting on his Facebook and Instagram accounts, Vin Diesel reiterated that “Fast & Furious 8” would begin a new trilogy that would culminate the franchise all together up to “Fast & Furious 10.”

He expressed his gratitude to Universal Pictures for being so good to him and for trusting his vision, adding that they have been like family.

Diesel promised the studio after “Fast & Furious 7” last year that he would deliver one last trilogy to end the saga.

There were previous speculations that Vin Diesel would step up and direct the sequel but it soon became official that F. Gary Gray has signed up to take on the role. While Gray has never helmed a “Fast & Furious” film before, he has a few tough thrillers on his resume including the all-famous “Italian Job” film, details Blasting News.

The feud to hype up the film

Filming for “Fast & Furious 8” is already completed and most of the things going on about the film on the internet are the rumored feud between lead star Vin Diesel and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who play Dominic Toretto and Luke Hobbs, respectively, in the successful film franchise.

Initially, there was a big news of the supposed feud especially when The Rock started ranting on his Twitter account and saying that some of the cast members are candy asses, one of his quotable quotes as a former and occasional wrestler of the World Wresting Entertainment (WWE).

Eventually, reports came out that the feud was being set up so that The Rock and Vin Diesel would end up in a wrestling match in WWE’s WrestleMania 33 to be held in April next year at the Orlando Citrus Bowl in Florida, a few days before the official showing of “Fast & Furious 8” on April 14, 2017.
