‘Fast & Furious 8′ to Feature Back Story of Eva Mendes’ Character, Indicating Actress will Have a Bigger Role in the Movie

There is no official announcement yet if Cody will make an appearance as himself portraying a new character, or if he will again play double for his brother’s character. Also confirmed to return for the next film are Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce, Kurt Russel as Mr. Nobody, and Lucas Black as Sean Boswell.

Aside from endless casting and plot rumors, one of the major dilemma of “Furious 8″ is still the lack of a director. When the film was announced, there was no one in line for a director, let alone a writer, but Diesel’s recent Instagram post seem to indicate that Justin Lin will take his director’s seat once again for the film.

The 48-year-old actor recently uploaded a photo of him and Lin sharing a light moment, further fueling fans’ speculations that Lin will be calling the shots for the next installment of the action movie. Lin has directed the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth movies of the successful movie franchise.

Horror film veteran director James Wan took over the latest sequel, which turned out to be the highest-grossing film of the franchise. Wan stated that he was unsure of his involvement if the next film will be a go. Recently, Wan went back in directing his preferred genre with “The Conjuring 2,” the sequel to the 2013 film “The Conjuring.”
