Just like other high-profile movies, the upcoming “Fast & Furious 8” set to hit theaters on April 14 next year, is now being hounded by absurd and often illogical rumors. While there are reports that seem to be accurate but there are actually more false rumors than accurate stories on the internet about Universal Pictures’ most successful film franchise these days.
The latest among the more interesting but obviously inaccurate rumors are those that are saying that “Fast & Furious 8” shall be featuring UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and model Cara Delevingne as pointed out by iTech Post.
It can be recalled that Rousey was part of the “Fast & Furious 7” shown in April 2015 where she played the role of Kara, the head of security for a Middle Eastern billionaire, whose million-dollar sports car was stolen from the top of the building in Dubai by Dominic Toretto and his gang.
Kara had a brief hand-to-hand combat with Letty Ortiz, played by Michelle Rodriguez, that the former dominated but eventually lost when an explosion occurred. She was not seen in the movie since then.
Which is why, it is very ironic, if not impossible, to see Ronda Rousey, reprising her role as Kara in “Fast & Furious 8” because the film will not have a Middle Eastern location at all.
Impossible rumors at play
And then there are also the rumors about model Cara Delevingne joining the eighth installment of “Fast & Furious” film franchise. The model has been rumored to be part of the cast of “Fast & Furious 7” and that proved to be false.
While nobody is discounting the possibility of the film taking in Cara Delevingne, who was last seen in the movie “Suicide Squad” as The Enchantress, it seems unlikely to be the case since the movie is almost through, if not finished its filming already.
These rumors are actually parallel in the latest speculations with the upcoming “Fifty Shades Darker” movie that Ian Somerhalder is being considered to replace Jamie Dornan for the lead role of Christian Grey. Those are clearly absurd rumors since filming for “Fifty Shades Darker” and the third movie of the erotic romance trilogy, “Fifty Shades Freed” has already completed months ago.
It seems like these rumors are only meant to propagate the hype about the upcoming films, which in the case of “Fast & Furious 8” is considered unnecessary by critics since the movie is expected to take after its predecessor and go on to become a major blockbuster as well.
Brian O’Connor will be back
No less than Vin Diesel, who plays the role of Dominic ‘Dom’ Toretto in the action ensemble “Fast & Furious” franchise confirmed a few weeks ago that the late actor Paul Walker shall once again be reprising his Brian O’Connor role in the upcoming “Fast & Furious 8.”
While Diesel has previously said that they have given the character of the late actor in the franchise a concluding scene with that emotional “One Last Ride” scene in “Fast & Furious 7,” he later on recanted his statement by saying that no “Fast & Furious” film will ever be complete without Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor on it.
Paul Walker died in November 2013 in a road accident while production for “Fast & Furious 7” was still ongoing. But the production team solved the problem of his absence by digital post-production technology and also with the help of the late actor’s brothers Cody and Caleb.
It really helped that the brothers bear a close resemblance to each other and to Paul so the production team was able to digitally attached Paul Walker’s face into his brothers who finished the scenes in “Fast & Furious 7” after his death, reports Game & Guide.
Apparently, “Fast & Furious 8” will use the same post-production technology as well as Cody and Caleb in order to recreate Paul Walker again. However, it should be noted that Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor would only make a cameo appearance in the movie which means it is going to be brief.
With that being said, contrary to previous statements that “Fast & Furious 7” was Paul Walker’s swan song in the film franchise, it is not going to be since he will once again be in “Fast & Furious 8” or more appropriately, his digital remastered version.
