Fast & Furious 8 is to be the First Film in the Final Trilogy to Cap Off the Franchise, Confirms Vin Diesel, More Details

Moreover, reports claim that lead actor and producer Diesel himself was one of the reasons directors take a pass helming the film. The “Pacifier” actor was accused of being way too demanding and difficult to work with. There are also speculations that Diesel wants to occupy the director’s seat for the next film.

Clarifying rumors, the “XXX” star posted a message on his Facebook page stating that no one has been offered to be the director of “Fast & Furious 8” yet let alone seen a script. Diesel stated that he will announce the directors of the last three “Fast and the Furious” movies via Facebook.

While the hunt for a new director is ongoing, producer Moritz was quick to dismiss reports that Diesel’s demanding nature stirred some trouble with Wan on the “Furious 7” set.

Speaking on behalf of Universal Pictures, the producer says that if there had been any issue between Diesel and Wan, they wouldn’t even be making an eight film with Vin right now let alone continue the franchise with one last trilogy, International Business Times reports.

Moritz also clarified that they loved working with Wan, but he was never really considered to helm “Fast 8” because of schedule conflicts with the sequel of “The Conjuring.” Moritz claims that they are actively seeking someone who will direct the final three Fast and the Furious movies.
