Vin Diesel seems excited about how the work on “Fast & Furious 8” is going, and apparently fans should prepare to see something quite interesting. The film has been discussed by fans of the franchise quite a lot, as it’s going to be a special installment – the first to not feature Paul Walker. After the actor passed away in the middle of the production of “Fast & Furious 7”, the film was completed with some special measures to compensate for his absence. And now, the crew is working without the actor for an entire production and they’ve had to adapt to that fact.
And while fans have been wondering how things are coming along, Vin Diesel is apparently quite happy with the way things are currently going, and he recently gave a brief preview of the film to his audience, explaining certain details. According to the actor, the team is already done with the basic storylines for many characters and they’ve been preparing the main plot, connecting different pieces.
This has been going for a while now, and it sounds like a lot more attention is being paid to making this film interesting on the story side. Which, of course, is certainly not a bad idea, but the producers should always remember where this franchise started and what drew fans to it in the first place. As long as it has fast car chases and lots of action, it’s going to be a successful “Fast & Furious” film.
Vin Diesel also revealed that there are currently several spin-offs in planning based on different characters from the franchise, but he didn’t want to go in detail on which ones exactly are going to get their own films. From what he said though, it could be gathered that the team is already a bit far into the planning of certain storylines for those films, so it would be interesting to see what they have come up with.
The new film could have a bit of a darker theme too, if we’re interpreting Vin Diesel’s statements correctly, as the director currently tasked with the production is apparently determined to bring out the darkness in some parts of the story, and we can possibly expect to see some rather disturbing moments. We don’t know if this will apply to the entire film as a whole, or if it will just be relevant to some parts of the story, but it’s still worth keeping in mind when approaching this production. “Fast & Furious” has traditionally been a more lighthearted franchise, but the people behind it can easily introduce some changes that alter the tone.
Especially now that Paul Walker is gone, an event which deeply shook all fans of the franchise and changed the tone of fan discussions on the Internet. It’s clear that people have a slightly different kind of expectations for the film right now, and it would be interesting to see how the producers will approach this situation and what the film might include in its storyline.
There have already been some rumors about that, as can be expected, but this is quite common with major productions, especially when it comes to a new entry in a long-running franchise, and fans should probably know to take things like that with a grain of salt by now. It’s easy to get misled and confused over some of the rumors that are circulating around, and this can lead to poor impressions of the actual film when it’s released.
