Fast & Furious 8 Clint Eastwood Son Joins Cast as a Character Working Alongside Kurt Russell’s Mr. Nobody

Filming for “Fast & Furious 8” is already completed and most of the things going on about the film on the internet are the rumored feud between lead star Vin Diesel and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who play Dominic Toretto and Luke Hobbs, respectively, in the successful film franchise.

Initially, there was a big news of the supposed feud especially when The Rock started ranting on his Twitter account and saying that some of the cast members are candy asses, one of his quotable quotes as a former and occasional wrestler of the World Wresting Entertainment (WWE).

Eventually, reports came out that the feud was being set up so that The Rock and Vin Diesel would end up in a wrestling match in WWE’s WrestleMania 33 to be held in April at the Orlando Citrus Bowl in Florida, a few days before the official showing of “Fast & Furious 8” on April 14, 2017.

It turns out that it was a publicity stunt all along and the information somewhat slowed down the news on “Fast & Furious 8” which shall officially come out in theaters as “Fast 8” according to Vin Diesel in a previous interview.

What seems to have been overlooked by the ‘feud’ rumors is the casting of Scott Eastwood, son of Clint Eastwood, in the movie to play the role of a character who works alongside Kurt Russell’s Mr. Nobody.

Close friends for years

Scott posted an emotional tribute to the late Paul Walker after his casting was announced a few months ago by saying that he and Paul were close friends for years, details the Inquisitr.

It is not clear though if his role is good only for “Fast 8” or his character would extend up to the next two films of the final trilogy for the franchise.

In a recent interview, Vin Diesel also confirmed that that “Fast & Furious 9” will hit cinemas on April 19, 2019, and “Fast & Furious 10” is set to make its debut on April 2, 2021, notes the Digital Spy.

The final dates actually sort of confirmed that everything’s well between Vin Diesel and The Rock and whether they push through with their plan to have a match at WrestleMania 33 to further hype up “Fast 8” remains to be seen.

As far as The Rock is concerned, it is almost sure that he would love that because he has been known to draw the crowd in any WWE event and he is also considered today as one of the most well-paid action stars in Hollywood.

So critics believe that it would be the call of Vin Diesel to make the WWE match a go or not. But as a producer of the action ensemble film franchise, he would surely consider The Rock’s idea because that surely means millions to the blockbuster coffers of “Fast 8” when it releases to theaters in April next year.

Iconic prison breakout

Last year, there have been reports that the next installment of the car racing film franchise “Fast & Furious” shall feature a prison break reportedly featuring Deckard Shaw, the villainous character played by British action star Jason Statham in “Fast & Furious 7.”

Back then, the rumors were saying that it would be British Dame, Helen Mirren, who shall be orchestrating the prison break and she will be the big bad for the next movie of the franchise.

Those rumors were inaccurate because as it turned out, the main villain of “Fast & Furious 8” is going to be award-winning actress Charlize Theron while Helen Mirren will be playing someone else, who will not be part of the action so much, although she really wished that she would.

There are also reports saying that Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw might become one of the good guys and join the group of Dominic ‘Dom’ Toretto.

Based on the recent hints on his social media accounts, it seems that there shall indeed be a prison breakout in “Fast & Furious 8,” but it is going to involve Luke Hobbs instead.
