Some publications have also pointed out that F. Gary Gray, who’s directing the film, already has experience with Charlize Theron. This should hopefully make it even easier to integrate her into the cast and ensure that she realizes her full potential for “Fast and Furious 8”.
In all likelihood, more casting decisions are going to be announced in the coming months and this is not the last we’ll hear from the set before the movie is out. It’s obvious that the people behind this film are putting a lot of serious effort into it, and that should also include making sure that they include an interesting, diverse cast.
If the franchise is going to continue into the future, then one of the most important points for the producers will be to ensure that every installment keeps things fresh instead of falling into a formulaic trap, something which is not a rare occurrence in Hollywood.
After seven installments, and an eighth one underway, there is a very real risk that the films could become bland and uninteresting if the producers don’t mix things up. This could, sadly, involve killing off one or more regular characters along the way too – but if that’s what it takes to ensure that we see even more “Fast and Furious” films and they keep getting good reviews, then we’re sure that most fans won’t mind. Hopefully any such moves are done in a graceful way though, as they could definitely impact the moods of old-time fans.
