Reports have been surfacing on the internet that Vin Diesel and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson have been quarreling on the set of the eighth installment of the famed “Fast and the Furious” franchise.
Last week, Johnson went on a rant and called out some of his male co-stars and saying that they have not been conducting themselves as men lately.
Johnson says that he has a lot of respect for the female cast which is why the male cast should also step up their game.
Fans were then quick to guess who the former WWE star was referring to among his co-stars. Tyrese Gibson, who plays Roman Pearce in the car racing franchise, immediately cleared things out that he and The Rock are in good terms.
Gibson shared a video of her daughter singing along Johnson and clarified that all is well between the two of them and that people should stop judging immediately.
Apparently, it was then revealed that Johnson was pertaining to Vin Diesel, who plays Dominic Torreto. Reports say that the two actors started clashing on the set due to the decisions of Vin for the film that didn’t sit well with Johnson.
TMZ reports that the tension between the two also roots from their role being producers of the film as well. Reports say that there were production decisions made by Diesel that Johnson was opposed to.
Both actors have not acknowledged reports but it looks like the rift between them have already been settled.
Earlier this week, the “Game Plan” actor said in a recent Instagram post that there had indeed been some conflicts on the set. However, those conflicts may potentially make the upcoming movie better especially for his character, Agent Luke Hobbs.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the rift might have been resolved as the two stars had an alleged meeting on Tuesday in Atlanta to settle things.
In a recent Instagram post of “The Scorpion King” actor, he went on saying that he strongly believes in the idea of a team effort. He also alludes that the tension between him and Diesel has been resolved by saying that they may have differences and conflicts, but they will always be family.
The upcoming film, dubbed as “Fast 8” is the first of the last trilogy of the popular street car heist film franchise.
After the successful box office performance of “Fast & Furious 7,” Diesel has announced that they will do three more movies completing the series with 10 films.
It is the first film not to star Paul Walker after his untimely death. The actor died in a single vehicle collision in November 2013. Filming for “Fast & Furious 7” was already underway when Paul died hence, he has already completed almost half his scenes in the movie.
His brothers replaced him and shot most of the scenes that Paul needed to shoot. In the last film, Jordana Brewster’s Mia was pregnant with her second child and Walker’s Brian O’ Conner decided to leave Dom and the gang and raise his growing family.
The cast has confirmed that Brian will be written out of the story in the next three films but will be honored in a special way in every film.
Filming for “Fast 8” began last March in Iceland. Other filming locations also included Atlanta, Cleaveland, New York, and Cuba with “Fast 8” becoming the first Hollywood movie to film in Cuba after the US embargo on the country was lifted.
Diesel then announced his plans that the next installment of “Fast and the Furious” will take place in New York City. The Rock has also been vocal about plans for his character to have his own spinoff film. The 44-year-old actor teased fans that his character will go darker in the next film.
