“Fast and Furious 8” is coming along nicely, judging by the various reports we’ve heard from the film’s set. Everyone involved is apparently quite optimistic for the final result, and Vin Diesel in particular has expressed a strong, positive attitude towards his work, and that of the team as a whole. The actor went on to say that he actually expects an Oscar for the new film, so we’re curious to see what we’ll get in the end.
At the same time, nobody has forgotten Paul Walker yet, and everyone is still grieving in their own way. Vin Diesel also made certain comments about the situation from his perspective, explaining how deeply the loss has affected him, and also addressing some rumors about the possible appearance of Paul Walker’s character in the new film.
According to Diesel, he was on the fence about finishing “Fast and Furious 7” when the incident occurred, and he was actually close to cancelling the film at one point. However, it’s obvious that he’s happy with his final decision, and there’s no doubt his fans are too.
With regards to recent talks of including footage of Paul Walker, Diesel explained that the situation is a very delicate one, but he seemed hopeful that one day technology will reach an advanced enough state that we can do much more than the “simple” CGI available at the moment.
He didn’t specifically say anything about the possible addition of Paul Walker to the “cast”, but we doubt that the crew would use his brother to fill the role again. If we do see Paul Walker’s character in “Fast and Furious 8”, it will likely be in the form of special effects, possibly using old footage that never made it in one of the previous films.
The future may seem bright for the “Fast and Furious” franchise, but it also sounds like things are going to get dark in the next film itself. Up until now, we’ve seen a good mix of action, thrill, and even a good dose of comedic moments in the “Fast and Furious” films.
But according to Vin Diesel, that’s all going to change soon. “Fast and Furious 8” will set a new tone, with a much darker overall theme. It seems like most fans of the franchise are actually happy about the news, and wouldn’t mind seeing the franchise in a new light like that, so hopefully the crew will be able to pull it off in a good way.
A significant change in the setting like that could definitely be a problematic development for the franchise if it’s not carefully thought out, and even though “Fast and Furious” still enjoys a lot of respect among its fans, the series could easily lose it all with just one wrong release. Hopefully that’s not what we’re about to see though, as many people have high hopes for the next film, and that seems to include many of the cast members themselves.
The last film was a huge success, both financially and critically, and of course many people have even higher expectations for “Fast and Furious 8” now. This could be a huge problem for the team behind the film, according to some. Even if they do everything right with the current release, it may still not be enough in the eyes of some fans. It’s happened before with franchises not only in film, but in other media as well.
