We’re curious to see where this franchise might end up, because it started out as something that many players didn’t take very seriously, and now it’s one of the most prominent names in gaming.
Rumors about a sequel aren’t rare but we don’t know when a new game might come out, and Ubisoft seem to have a lot on their plate right now so that might complicate the situation even further.
On the other hand, some players have been asking to see more of the game design style featured in “Blood Dragon”, a mini-game that was released with reused assets from the initial release of “Far Cry 3”.
It saw some very positive responses from fans and pretty much everyone agreed that it was a clever addition to the franchise by Ubisoft, and a great way to show the potential for reusing game assets with completely new gameplay. We don’t know if the studio might be planning something similar for the future, but it’s noticeable that the release managed to inspire some other developers to come up with their own similar ideas too, although none really reached the popularity that “Blood Dragon” saw, and we wouldn’t expect it from anything that’s not another “Far Cry” game.
