Fallout 4 Rumored to Possibly See more DLC after Nuka World, Despite Bethesda’s Denial!

Bethesda have released what they claimed was the last installment in the set of extra content for “Fallout 4”. Titled “Nuka-World”, the DLC expanded the game significantly and delivered certain elements that players had been craving for. And even though it was not perfect according to some gamers, the new DLC still managed to expand what the game has to offer quite well.

Understandably, fans are now hungry for more content, and it’s obvious that mods are not going to be enough to satisfy them. There were some recent rumors that Bethesda could potentially be working on a brand new DLC for the game, but the studio was quick to deny that and claimed that they were done with the extra content for “Fallout 4”.

At the same time, observant gamers have spotted some interesting entries in Steam’s database, which implied that there was actually something else coming up, although it wasn’t clear what. And Bethesda didn’t try to deny anything this time, as a studio representative confirmed that the entry was genuine, and related to something the studio was going to announce.

There are plenty of possibilities for what that could be that don’t include additional DLC though, so fans shouldn’t get their hopes up just yet. For example, it’s very likely that the studio is going to release a “Game of the Year” edition that bundles all the DLCs together in one package along with the main game itself, as they’ve done for their other games before.

It could also be a major update for “Fallout 4” that doesn’t actually add any new content, but rather extra functionality. More specifically, some publications suspect that VR support may be in the works. That would be interesting to see indeed, especially given the unique world of “Fallout 4”, but some have argued that it would not actually be a good idea.

The main problem, according to them, is that VR technology is still in an early stage in its life, and it still has some quirks which make it rather incompatible with a game like a shooter. People still commonly experience motion sickness and other similar problems when playing first-person games with this technology, and this will likely be unresolved for a while longer.

Other than that, there have been various minor suggestions for what the studio could be planning, but no real answer on the horizon. It’s always possible, of course, that they really are working on new DLC and want to keep it as a surprise for their fans, but in that case they probably wouldn’t have even addressed the situation in the first place.

Some fans apparently want to see advanced modding support in the game, and have been hopeful that the new update could have something to do with that. There were some claims from the studio that they want to offer full modding support in “Fallout 4”, but it would probably make more sense for them to get their fans hyped early on, instead of keeping this a secret until the end.

However, if the update does have something to do with modding, hopefully it’s not in the same style as the one that “Skyrim” received some time ago. There was a lot of controversy around the decision of Bethesda and Valve to monetize mods in such a way back then, to the extent that the studio ended up completely backtracking on the idea and claimed they wouldn’t reintroduce it without some extensive thinking.
