The rumors about “Fallout 4” have been getting stronger and stronger, and many fans are strongly convinced that the game is right around the corner at this point. Bethesda may be keeping quiet, but that’s perfectly normal for the studio – but there have been various reports coming in from all sides that we might soon see the announcement for a new “Fallout”, and it could even be a much more amazing game than fans have been expecting.
It’s been some time since we got to play a “Fallout” game, and according to reports, Bethesda have learned a lot about how the franchise works and what pleases its fans. Some of the changes coming in “Fallout 4” will reportedly be inspired by “Skyrim” too, as Bethesda have been experimenting with carrying over features from “The Elder Scrolls” into “Fallout”.
It makes sense too, as the two series are quite similar in their basic gameplay, and some fans even went as far as to jokingly call refer to “Skyrim” as “Fallout with guns” when the game was announced. Still, the two franchises have their own unique style as well, and there are plenty of differences on both sides, other than the basic premise.
What could “Fallout 4” take from “Skyrim” to improve its gameplay? Fans have been discussing the possibilities at various online messaging boards, and so far most are focused on small interface improvements as well as changing the game’s style of combat and difficulty scaling.
The other question that fans have been asking quite a lot lately has been about the game’s location – where do Bethesda plan to set the new game? Boston was one location that has been mentioned as a possible setting, and there were rumors that Bethesda are very seriously considering it as a possibility. Nothing serious came from those rumors in the end though, and Bethesda haven’t made any comments about the location they’re developing “Fallout 4” around.
It was also recently claimed that all rumors about the game’s location so far have been wrong, and it’s actually going to be set in an entirely new place that nobody has managed to guess yet. There are lots of possibilities for the setting of a new “Fallout” game, even if Bethesda choose to stick to the same style of keeping the game in the US. There are actually various locations that have been referenced in previous “Fallout” games but haven’t been explored in any title so far, which could be the perfect setting for the new installment in the series. Doing that could even give the game’s writers the opportunity to explore the back story of previous “Fallout” titles a little!
