The post-apocalyptic role-playing game “Fallout 4” will be officially rolling out to the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC on November 10 and one of the most important differences that it will have over its predecessor video games is the fact that it is an infinite game.
According to Polygon, “Fallout 4” will have no level cap and the game shall proceed infinitely even after completing the main storyline.
It would be as if the game is on an endless or survival mode or until the player gets tired of playing and gives up.
Thus, gamers who are familiar with “Fallout 3” and “Fallout: New Vegas” would not be able to draw on their experiences to play “Fallout 4” because they won’t have any idea what’s coming down the line especially if they don’t read the Prima Guide.
More than just serving as a spoiler, the Prima Guide is a detailed video tutorial released by game publisher Bethesda Softworks recently that contains the details on how players should take on the game including how to maximize the perks, which are a big part of the game.
Perks and attributes
Players should be very familiar with perks and attributes system for “Fallout 4” for them to fully understand and go through the game with precision.
For each of the seven special attributes, there will be 10 perks and if a player has all the 10 perks in any attribute, he will also be given the top-level perk no matter the overall level.
However, there is no mention of traits in the Bethesda Prima Guide video tutorial. Traits are one-shot modifiers chosen at character creation. But the footage does contain a more comprehensive explanation of the progression and levelling system in “Fallout 4.”
In the past “Fallout” games, there were perks that allow players to increase a special attribute by one on the spot, which would be a gateway to 10s across every special characteristic in an uncapped game.
It is expected that even with the Prima Guide, gamers will still grope for form learning the intricate details of “Fallout 4” but that is the beauty of gaming when gamers explore and make trial and error approach. It would be boringly routine if they already know the game right from the start and the challenges would be easy pickings for them.
File size of ‘Fallout 4’ on Xbox One
Microsoft has just disclosed that “Fallout 4” will have a file size of 28.12 GB on its current generation gaming console, the Xbox One when the game officially rolls out on November 10.
Gamer critics believe that the size is quite modest for a fairly big, popular, and ambitious-sounding game. Accordingly, it is through compression that will keep the overall file size down, details Gamespot.
But the actual file size is way plenty compared to the other Bethesda game titles released in the recent past. “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” for instance was just 3.68 GB on the Xbox 360 when it came out; “Fallout: New Vegas” had a 4.75 GB file size on the same gaming console, while “Fallout 3” took up 5.48 GB of memory storage space on the Xbox 360.
Sony has yet to release or announce the file size of “Fallout 4” on the PlayStation 4, but it shall most likely approximate the file size of the Xbox One version. Bethesda has yet to disclose the file size of “Fallout 4” on the PC edition as well.
Bethesda recently announced that after the release of “Fallout 4” on November 10, there will still be several post-launch content releases to the video game including regular free updates, paid DLCs, mods, among others.
Meanwhile, German gamers of “Fallout 4” will be happy to know that unlike “Fallout 3” and “Fallout: New Vegas,” the latest video game of the franchise will not be censored or will remain uncut when it hits Germany in November.
Germany is known to be among several countries who impose certain regulations or censorship on violent video games, particularly those that feature blood and gore-filled scenes and also the Nazi tones on video games that feature World War II themes.
