Fans of “Fallout 4” have had some time to explore the game’s world and uncover all of its secrets now, and most of the interesting things in the game have apparently been found already. At this point, most players are just having fun messing around and toying with different ideas and character builds, but there doesn’t seem to be much new content left for them to explore. Because of this, many are eagerly waiting for the release of new DLC right now, and there is of course a lot of speculation about when we’re going to see new content for the game, and what it might involve.
There are various prominent rumors and theories in the community regarding the first DLC for “Fallout 4”, and the most interesting one is that it might be focused on underwater content. According to some players, there have been hints about that throughout the game’s world, and there have actually been some interesting discussion threads talking about these details and connecting the dots. Of course, it could all be the imaginations of players fooling them into seeing things that are not actually there, but we never know what Bethesda might be planning for “Fallout 4”, given what we’ve seen in the game so far.
Plus, they haven’t released DLC of this type before, so it could make sense that this game might feature the first underwater expansion in the “Fallout” franchise. While underwater levels are not exactly the first association a player tends to make for this game, there does seem to be some potential for levels like that in the current setup. The Commonwealth has lots of water areas to explore already, and Bethesda won’t even have to put a lot of effort into expanding the game in order to make it interesting in this regard.
They have also added lots of new areas with DLC in the past, and it would make sense that the new content for “Fallout 4” will take players on a journey through a new place that they haven’t explored before, especially if it’s a new type of area. From what we can tell, players also seem optimistic about the idea of underwater levels in future DLC, so if that’s really what Bethesda are planning, they have apparently come up with a good idea.
Other than that, players are mostly hopeful that the first DLC will address some of the issues that the game has which are constantly being brought up in discussions about it online. Its dialog system, for example, is constantly criticized for being flat and uninteresting, and on the other hand there are various issues with the way the game’s story goes and how players get to decide their journey through its world. Many apparently expected a more diverse, branching experience like we saw in the previous games, and for those players, this was not a true “Fallout” game in this regard and it felt more like a shooter with RPG elements.
Just how much of that can really be fixed with just new DLC though? Admittedly, previous content installments for the franchise have added a lot, but they didn’t really go as far as to make major changes to core gameplay elements, or to fix any significant issues that the players have been bringing up about the game. They were mostly focused on adding new content including new areas to explore, as well as new stories to follow, but players were mostly fine with that.
