‘Fallout 4’ Developer Takes Extra Measure to Stop Unauthorized Uploading of PC Modders’ Work on Gaming Consoles!

Game developer Bethesda Studios has taken an extra measure to stop unauthorized uploading of PC modders’ work in the post-Apocalyptic role-playing game “Fallout 4” for possible use in the gaming consoles.

Gamers are now required to have a Steam-linked account with Bethesda which is one way for the developer to filter the underhand strategies of some tech-savvy creators to be able to bring the game of some players to the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

Bethesda initiated the change with the latest update to “Fallout 4” that was released last week, which is part of the preparation of the developer to bring the PC mod support to the PlayStation 4. The same feature already rolled out to the Xbox One late last month, reports Polygon.

The game developer has obviously learned its lesson when the PC mod support came to the Xbox One in May. A good number of PC modders have found their work lifted from non-official and third-party hosting sites such as Nexus Mods and then uploaded to Bethesda.net for use on Xbox One.

Bethesda also created a channel through which PC modders could file complaints under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and for them to allow the game developer to remove the content.

The game developer has promised during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 that the mod support of “Fallout 4” would come to the consoles but it almost took them a year since they made the announcement.

Fourth DLC on the way

Meanwhile, a fourth DLC shall be coming to “Fallout 4” very soon and it is officially called as “Contraptions.”

According to reports, “Contraptions” would be a smaller piece of DLC just like the “Wasteland Workshop” and “Automatron” and is not as big as the “Far Harbor” expansion. It would also be more about crafting, details Forbes.

Critics are also saying that the new DLC would really make settlements in “Fallout 4” less boring. Settlements are largely a static affair at the moment and the most exciting thing that happens only when a settler who decides to sit down in a chair or tend to some mutfruit.

“Contraptions” shall bring new items including conveyor belts, scaffolding kits, track kits, and also logic gates to construct crazy and complex gadgets to improve the gamers’ Wasteland settlements.

There is also the “Contraptions” Workshop that includes all-new features like elevators, greenhouse kits, warehouse kits, fireworks, armor racks, among many others.

Surviving the ‘Survival’ mode

Because of the high degree of difficulty of the Survival Mode of “Fallout 4,” most gamers already think that they will already lose the game even before they start playing the mode.

However, one player has reportedly managed to beat the entire thing on the “Fallout 4” Survival Mode on a single life.

The gamer, who goes by the name of Kyle Hinckley, got his toughest challenge playing the game’s Survival Mode was a nearly catastrophic glitch.

Hinckley’s adventure was an intense one alright that took him over 36 hours of intermittent play but the typical challenges that came with a permadeath Survival run were not the most memorable part of playing “Fallout 4” for him.

He eventually learned that the best part of the experience is when things go haywire and break, which is a classic Bethesda style.

Early last month, Bethesda Studios also released an update to “Fallout 4” called as Patch 1.5. It first arrived on the PC on May 2 before it came to the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 a week later.
