In order to further heighten the excitement on the release of the post-apocalyptic role-playing game “Fallout 4” on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One on November 10, game developer Bethesda Softworks has recently released two videos that focus on the development process of the game.
The two videos indicate that it was taped during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 held in June when Bethesda formally made the announcement on the official release date of “Fallout 4.”
The clips feature game development insights from game director Todd Howard, lead designer Emil Pagliarulo, artist Istvan Pely, and other members of the Bethesda Game Studios development team, notes Gamespot.
One of the videos featured discussions centered on the game length, which according to reports is about 400 hours, the overall look of the game world, why Boston was chosen as the game’s location, and a lot more.
The second video featured how Bethesda decided to give a voice to the game’s protagonists, who are performed by Brian T. Delaney and Courtenay Taylor. The game’s designers also explained why fully voiced characters will let gamers connect emotionally with the characters like no other “Fallout” game before.
Delaney and Taylor actually recorded more than 13,000 lines for the game, and they also said in the video that they have worked really hard to keep their involvement with the project secret for years.
Emil Pagliarulo explained that the emotional depth that the development team got by having the voiced protagonists was more intense and actually surpassed his own expectations.
Xbox One Fallout 4 bundle
Meanwhile, Microsoft has announced on October 2 the Xbox One Fallout 4 bundle, which is one of the most exciting bundles that they will be releasing to date.
Polygon details that the Xbox One Fallout 4 bundle features a 1TB hard drive, a copy of both “Fallout 3” and “Fallout 4.” It will become available in November immediately after the official release of “Fallout 4” and will come out with a cost of $399.
The good news is that the Xbox One Fallout 4 bundle will be available in many countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, UK, U.S., Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates.
Bethesda is also offering a $30 DLC pass for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 users as the gaming company has confirmed that the game’s DLC will not be exclusive to any gaming platform. The DLC includes unannounced expansions and is now available for pre-order on Xbox One. Sony has yet to make announcements on pre-order of the game for the PS4.
An infinite game
When “Fallout 4” officially comes out on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 on November 10, one of the most important differences that it will have over its predecessor video games is the fact that it is an infinite game.
Apparently, “Fallout 4” will have no level cap and the game shall proceed infinitely even after completing the main storyline.
It would be as if the game is on an endless or survival mode or until the player gets tired of playing and gives up.
Thus, gamers who are familiar with “Fallout 3” and “Fallout: New Vegas” would not be able to draw on their experience to play “Fallout 4” because they won’t have any idea what’s coming down the line especially if they don’t read the Prima Guide.
More than just serving as a spoiler, the Prima Guide is a detailed video tutorial released by game developer Bethesda Softworks recently that contains the details on how players should take on the game including how to maximize the perks, which are a big part of the game.
