‘Fallout 4’ Developer Gives Gamers a Head Start by Making the Game Pre-Loadable Before November 10!

Less than two weeks before the official release of the post-apocalyptic video game “Fallout 4” on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC on November 10, game developer Bethesda Softworks has announced that it will give gamers a special treat.

On October 27, Bethesda formally announced that “Fallout 4” will be pre-loadable to gaming consoles a few days before November 10, which means that gamers can start playing the game the moment it goes live on its official release date, cites the PC Gamer.

The offer actually gives gamers a good number of hours of a head start than the usual process of waiting for the game to go live on its official roll out date before they can start downloading it.

Downloading a video game on the gaming consoles and the PC as large as “Fallout 4” normally takes hours or even a day and Bethesda will do away with that for gamers by making the game pre-loadable.

This means that the game applications and related software support will be ready for loading on the gaming consoles and the PC between one to three days before November 10. That would give gamers the time to download and install everything on their Xbox One, or their PlayStation 4, or their PC, provided, of course, they purchase a copy of the game.

The tweet that confirmed it

It was actually Pete Hines, vice president of PR and marketing of Bethesda Softworks, who confirmed through a tweet on October 26 that “Fallout 4” would indeed be made pre-loadable a few days before the game’s launching day on November 10.

He added that gamers should watch out for the announcement of the exact day and time when the game will be ready for preloading on the PC, the Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4.

Bethesda did not specify exactly what day the pre-loading will go live, but gamers can already start clearing out some of their hard drive space while waiting for the official go-signal, notes Games Radar.

“Fallout 4” will take up between 28GB to 35GB of storage on gaming consoles and the PC so that’s a whole lot of memory space consumption. Downloading it on the consoles and the PC would surely take hours or even a day at the most.

The pre-loading period is important for gamers because the game is big, in any language. In fact, Bethesda recently stated that the small capacity of conventional DVDs compared to Blu-ray discs used by consoles is one of the reasons why they require the PC version to be partially downloaded from Steam, even when purchased on disc.

A dynamic dialog system

“Fallout 4” will feature the series’ most in-depth character creation yet. Bethesda said earlier this year that the game will sport a new dynamic dialog system that lets the player walk away from the dull conversation.

The blend of real-world environments with “Fallout 4” models work really well and made the recent trailer really look nice. It just makes the game environment look good and Bethesda is confident that it shall be able to make have the same level of automation in the near future.

Fallout 4

In order to drumbeat the release of “Fallout 4” on November 10, game developer Bethesda has released two videos that focus on the development process of the game.

The two videos indicate that it was taped during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 held in June when Bethesda formally made the announcement on the official release date of “Fallout 4.”

The clips feature game development insights from game director Todd Howard, lead designer Emil Pagliarulo, artist Istvan Pely, and other members of the Bethesda Game Studios development team.
