Season 2 of the American science fiction TV drama series “Extant” has just aired its fourth episode but fans of the show can hardly wait for the airing of its subsequent episodes on CBS from the fifth up to its 13th and season finale.
Over the past couple of episodes, astronaut Molly Woods has been starting to evolve, but she seems not to recognize it just yet. However, from the fifth episode onwards, things will be a lot different with Molly.
According to a report by Christian Today, Molly will start freaking out once she realizes that she is changing physically. The next episode is aptly titled “You Say You Want an Evolution,” Molly will start to feel panicky after personally seeing the transformation that is happening with her body.
What worries the International Space Exploration Agency (ISEA) astronaut is that she does not know what she is transforming into and whether there is a chance that she can reverse it.
Molly was previously assigned on a 13-month solo mission aboard space station Seraphim. She returns home to her husband John, played by Goran Visnjik, a robotics engineer who created their son Ethan, a prototype android called a ‘humanich.’
The female astronaut eventually discovers that she has mysteriously become pregnant despite years of infertility; she started looking for answers, suspicious that she might have unknowingly chanced upon alien creatures while in space.
An investigative team up
Meanwhile, the wife of police offer JD Richter, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, will suddenly show up on his doorstep and make things a little complicated for JD’s personal affairs but will have nothing to do with his investigative efforts on the death of Molly’s husband, John.
Dorothy Richter, played by Melina Karakaredes, apparently just wanted to discuss with JD the situation of their daughter who is currently under his custody.
On episode 4, Molly was seen reuniting with his son Ethan, played by Pierce Gagnon. She and JD managed to trace the fingerprint left in her house to that of Charlie, played by Tyler Hilton. They subsequently tracked him to the apartment of Julie, played by Grace Gunner.
When Molly finally saw her son, she realized that he could not remember him and immediately turned on Julie. Julie threatened to call the police while JD tried to restrain Molly, preventing any possible implication that she might eventually end up in the psych ward again.
Molly then confronted Toby, played by David Morrissey, and demanded that he give her custody of Ethan. Toby took pity on her and told her he had set up a meeting with her and the head of Homeland Security to discuss her son’s case. Finally, Molly was given visitation rights to Ethan before getting full custody of her son.
Julie’s involvement on the death of John
Meanwhile, JD will investigate Julie and her potential involvement with the death of John Woods after questions start to arise, details Heavy.
JD continues to track down leads on how John died. He discovered that before Molly’s husband’s death, Julie actually made a call to a top-level clearance government and 10 minutes later, John was killed by a train.
The police officer contacted Molly so that they can discuss the new information but on her way to the meeting, Molly met one of the men she slept with when she blacked out and he started getting aggressive with her.
Molly started becoming weird, flashing a weird symbol with her eyes and causing him to hallucinate about his dead mother. The man then ran into the street and promptly got run over by a speeding car.
