The eighth episode of the American science fiction drama TV series “Extant” will air on CBS on August 12 but based on the last two episodes, it is likely to focus on Lucy, played by Kiersey Clemons, developing hatred for humans and starting to spiral out of control.
Lucy, just like Ethan, the son of Molly by her dead robotics engineer husband John Woods, is a prototype android called humanich. The title of the upcoming eight episode “Arms and the Humanich,” indicates that Lucy as the other humanich is slowly becoming a risk to those around her.
Christian Today reports that it will not be long before Lucy starts becoming a threat, with her advanced state of mind and considerable strength and power.
Back-to-back episodes
In its attempt to draw more attention to the series, CBS actually aired episodes 6 and 7 of the show back-to-back on August 5.
The two episodes shown were “You Say You Want an Evolution,” and “The Other.” With an extra episode comes an extra dash of drama, particularly for Molly, played by Halle Berry, who continues to deal with the changes going on with her body.
Her attempt to make sense of the changes happening to her body was shown. She was slowly changing into a hybrid, and the only way she could reverse it was to get alien spores from the Global Security Commission (GSC) and compare them with a sample of her bone marrow. She breached a security protocol, however, and was forced to use her newfound alien power to escape.
Viewers also saw JD Richter, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, dealing with the unplanned appearance of his wife to add to their already chaotic lives, notes Heavy.
More intense action
The upcoming eighth episode of “Extant” will see Molly and JD facing some intense action. The International Space Exploration Agency (ISEA) astronaut and her cop partner will race against time to rescue their children.
Molly will try to save her hybrid son Adhu, played by Henderson Wade, from the raid that the GSC is planning to do on the hybrid compound, while JD will try to help out his daughter being held captive by Toby, played by David Morrisey.
The astronaut has found a way to locate Ahdu in a hybrid compound situated in the woods. When Molly asked for a sample of Ahdu’s DNA, the boy became reluctant at first. But when her mother explained how important it was for her, Ahdu relented.
Ahdu then proceeded to convince Molly that the hybrids were not dangerous to humans and that they wish to co-exist with them.
There is also an interesting plot in the back-to-back episodes that showed Anna telling Julie to create 100 more humanichs as soon as possible, as ordered by the government.
When Julie responded that it was impossible to do such in a short amount of time, Anna insisted that she integrates Lucy’s program into the robots without allowing them to organically have human experiences and interactions. The upcoming episode will see how this plot and threat to humans develop.
Meanwhile, JD continues to track down leads on how John Woods died. He discovered that before Molly’s husband’s death, Julie actually made a call to a top-level clearance government and 10 minutes later, John was killed by a train.
The police officer contacted Molly so that they can discuss the new information but on her way to the meeting, Molly met one of the men she slept with when she blacked out and he started getting aggressive with her.
Extant is the worst show on tv. The acting is atrocious and the writers have to be in junior high school. I don’t see how this can continue next summer.
