With all that in mind, could we ever see a new production inspired by “Extant”? The show developed some interesting ideas which could definitely make their way into another production later on, but it might take some time before a network decides to pick up on the concept.
After all, things are still fresh after the cancellation of “Extant”, and most executives would be careful in this situation and won’t be quick to run another show with a similar concept.
But as we said above, it doesn’t have to be the whole idea – producers could easily take inspiration from various minor details in the show, as it had plenty of them in good places. With that, they could develop something that eventually manages to get the balance of the formula just right.
Until then, many people will be focused on the work of Halle Berry, and we expect to see a lot in the press about her new production once it gets off the ground. That might take some time, as we already described, but things are definitely looking good for the show right now and it will hopefully manage to live up to the high expectations that fans have for it on all sides at the moment.
