There are currently various rumors surrounding the production of “Fast & Furious 8”, as can be expected, and it looks like fans of the franchise are going to see some interesting additions to the line-up, as well as some previous actors returning. So far, we’ve heard about Eva Mendes, Ronda Rousey and Joanna Jedrzejczyk as some possibilities for new actors in the film, but none of them have been confirmed officially so far. Still, the rumors seem pretty strong, particularly around Eva Mendes, who is very likely to be taking part in the new film at this point.
She might come back to reprise her role as Agent Monica Fuentes, who was first shown in “2 Fast 2 Furious” and has been part of the ongoing plot since, although in mostly minor ways. Universal Pictures haven’t confirmed the decision to include her in the new film, and the actress herself hasn’t said anything either.
Ronda Rousey might also join the film’s cast, as she was recently asked who could be her opponent in the next installment in the series, to which she replied “Joanna Jedrzejczyk”. She described her as “really tiny and skinny” but at the same time “such a little ninja”, and stated that she would be a great addition to the film’s cast, as she looks somewhat unassuming but at the same time she’s capable of a lot.
Rousey also added that she considers herself to look good in a Herve Leger dress, but she also gives off the vibe that she can do a lot of damage to a person despite her nice appearance – while Joanna apparently is not like that, and her unassuming nature is exactly what makes her so dangerous according to Rousey.
Vin Diesel also recently confirmed plans to shoot the new film in New York, and also revealed that it should be ready for the theaters on April 14, 2017. So far, production has been coming along nicely, but there is apparently still a lot of work to be done, especially on some of the editing, and we’ve also heard that some scenes are being considered for heavy post-production, though we’re not sure how that would impact the development schedule.
The film is going to focus on the life of Mr. Nobody, and Diesel seems strongly convinced that this will be the best installment in the franchise to date. Everyone involved in the project seems quite enthusiastic about it so far, so it definitely looks like something quite good is shaping up behind the scenes. Hopefully things will stay that way throughout the film’s development.
