The only thing the show could change right now to become more attractive to its current fans, from what we’re able to tell, is that people want to see a little more positivity in the upcoming developments, instead of the producers continuing to stick to their recently negative narrative.
We’ve already seen an example of that in the relationship between Cookie and Angelo, but there is a lot more that can be done to make this season a more positively-toned one. “Empire” has the peculiar quality of combining love and dramatic developments in a very balanced way, so the producers realistically just have to do more of the same.
Let’s hope that they really are planning to make things a bit more positive for their fans with the upcoming developments in this season.
The next few episodes should be particularly telling in this regard, and they should make it clear what kind of direction the show is moving in right now. Fans should not worry if they don’t see things picking up in the next episode though, as it’s possible that this will be a darker season leading up to more positive developments later on. But as we said above, it’s also possible that the overall tone of the show could become darker and more dramatic, so we don’t know what to believe right now.
