“Revenge” is coming close to a conclusion, with just a couple of episodes left in the show in total – it’s already been confirmed that the current fourth season will be its last, so those final episodes will have to wrap up the whole story and tie up any loose ends that the fans might be interested in. And so far, we’ve been getting various rumors about what the end of the show might look like, although we haven’t been able to confirm anything so far.
Currently, there is strong speculation that Emily Thorne will be killed off in the last episode of the show. This has been rumored for some time now and it’s not the first that we’re hearing about it, but it’s been discussed more and more as a possibility lately. Some fans even seem to think that the show has already given rumors about the upcoming event in its previous episodes, though this remains fan speculation that’s pretty difficult to prove until the final episodes actually air.
We do know that Emily will have to admit that she’s guilty though, after all the time – she’ll be “backed into a corner”, according to a synopsis for one of the upcoming episodes, the show’s finale. This is in contrast to the previous episode which will have her trying to defend her innocence with the help of Nolan and Jack, so it seems like she’s about to have a change of heart – but what exactly will provoke her reaction, and what will she end up doing in order to save face?
The synopsis also alludes to the fact that Emily might have to go a bit far before she finally admits defeat, and knowing her character, this could mean a lot. It has also added to the speculation among fans about the character’s possible death, but again, it’s not very easy to interpret those synopses out of context like that.
Sunil Nayar also gave some hints about what’s coming in the final episodes of the show, saying that the conclusion of the story is supposed to teach viewers a lesson and give them something to think about. It’s apparently supposed to be the kind of story where a viewer asks themselves if they would actually want to do that with their own lives, or if it looks like something to be avoided.
And with that in mind, leaving Emily alive might not be the kind of conclusion that the writers are aiming for. She will have to face the consequences of her actions, and her life might be the price she has to pay in the end.
