For a while, it was rumored that Emily Blunt might make an appearance in “Frozen 2”, and these speculations seemed to be on the rise lately, with some new bits of information coming out about the new movie. And it seems that Blunt still hasn’t completely given up hope on the idea of showing up in the production, as evidenced by a recent interview she gave to Cinema Blend as part of her promotion for “Into the Woods”. In the interview, she was asked about “Frozen 2”, and her answer came as no surprise to anyone.
She seems enthusiastic about making an appearance in a potential “Frozen 2”, although she seems to have no idea what her character in the new film could be about. One of her remarks was that she could be “obsessed with flowers”.
It’s interesting to note that this statement is a bit of a contradiction to what Blunt has said about the situation before, as previously she stated that Kristen Bell should rightfully continue her contribution to the franchise, and it’s not right for Blunt to enter the production in any way. Her previous statement said that “there’s never going to be another Elsa and an Anna, there just can’t” – she seemed quite unambiguous on the situation. It’s not clear if her opinion has changed since then, or if her new statement is actually not contradictory but simply being misinterpreted, although fans have certainly been speculating both ways.
Emily Blunt’s love for “Frozen” is actually something quite special, as she allegedly gave birth to her daughter as a result of watching the first film. Watching “Frozen” was exactly when she went into labor, and thus her child was born “as a result” of the film.
So far, Disney haven’t confirmed the new “Frozen 2” in any official way, and they have actually made some statements that indicate to some extent that the film is not being considered at the moment. However, given the immense popularity of the first one, and Disney’s strong experience in handling sequels properly, it makes sense that they would eventually want to release “Frozen 2”. Whether or not this is already happening behind the scenes, it’s hard to tell right now – but it’s worth noting that if the new film really was already in production, then at least some of the major actors associated with it would have already said something. Contrary to that, most of them seem involved with other projects right now, leaving little room for the possibility that they could be working on a sequel to “Frozen”, unless Disney are producing it in a more unusual way that doesn’t require their work immediately.
