Emerald City Premiere Promises a Great Potential in Future but Fails to Create Its Mark Initially, Episode Guide

Even though the first two episodes do project the show as a bit too eager, it is clear that the show does have a great amount of potential. Each and every scene is beautifully shot and superbly executed. The director of Emerald City, Tarsem Singh insisted on using mainly real locations and as little CGI as thinkable to add a modern and more mature feel, and it did pay off.

It is also apparent the cast itself holds a great deal of promise. As is the case with the majority of shows, the cast can either make or break a series. As always, it is tough to critic the quality of a show purely based on its premiere. Given its puzzling finish and tonal shifts all through, these two first episodes leave audiences a bit unsure of how to think or feel.

There is a huge amount of political and cultural significance to the characters and to the show itself, which is regrettably diluted by its lack of gravity and dumbed-down implementation. However, it can be hoped that Emerald City will start to create a denser identity as it delves deeper into the storyline, but for now, we must settle down for uncertainty.
