Elio Motors Unveils E1c At Los Angeles Auto Show, Still A Long-Way To Go For Production TO Start, Received 61,000 Reservations On First Car

Elio Motors is unable to fulfill the promises they had made at the start. The start-up automobile company had said that they would generate over 1500 jobs in Shreveport, Louisiana, but that is yet to happen.

Elio Motors started testing on the vehicle that they are planning on launching at a local GM plant, but they haven’t been able to create the promised jobs. The reason behind this is that Elio Motors still needs to raise enough funding to continue with their tests.

CEO Paul Elio spoke up about the current situation in Elio Motors. He explained the challenges and said that they would overcome the issues and deliver on all their promises. However, this didn’t stop the public from grilling the start-up company about the empty facility, which sits empty without creating jobs or paying property taxes.

Elio Motors made a deal with RACER where they do not have to pay any tax for the facility until they start rolling out cars from the factory. Elio confessed that it had been a nightmare getting funds from investors. No one seems interested in the financing of a project that wouldn’t make any profit for the next two years.

Elio Motors was forced to go public, where they made 61,000 reservations for their three-wheeled car and that was when the bankers came on board. The funds are rolling in, but Elio Motors roughly need around $300 million to start manufacturing the cars, and they are currently at $120 million.

According to Forbes, they have initiated a partnership with Oppenheimer, which might be beneficial to Elio Motors. Elio Motors seems to be on the same boat that Tesla was once it.

The company now hires around 13,000 employees and has a market cap of over $30 billion! Elio Motors knows that the future is bright and they aren’t letting these bumps deter them.

The auto company is already testing 23 cars and unveiled their latest at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The start-up launched a three-wheel vehicle that can get up to 84 mpg. The car will have a base price of around $7,300.

The E1c vehicle from Elio Motors is a step in the right direction. The company has finally started production after staying in the prototype phase for a long time. Those present at the Los Angeles Auto Show said that the E1c looks similar to the other prototypes from Elio Motors.

However, the engineering is different and includes several functional and structural changes. The suspension of the vehicle, the frame, and the safety systems are improved and go a long way in making the experience of the E1c from Elio Motors satisfying.

The start-up is working on the E-Series, manufactured by assembling low-cost production tools. Elio Motors proves the repeatability and the feasibility of building these products and tools.

Elio Motors is dedicated to providing a range of cars that are made with low-cost tools that would be easy to transport. The use of such materials will drastically reduce the final cost of the car and will make the E1c cheap and affordable to a larger section of buyers.

The company has already worked with a team of engineers and suppliers who have tried to meet each and every requirement of the start-up auto company. The company is driven to create a game-changing vehicle that will be like nothing else found in the manufacturing industry.

According to PR News Wire, E1c comes in an unibody frame, which enables the vehicle to absorb energy and makes it safer. Elio Motors specifically made the unibody frame for the E-Series along with Roush Engineering and Schwab Industries.
