Elder Scrolls 6 Release Allegedly Pushed Back, Future of Franchise Unknown!

After much speculation, Bethesda finally brought “Fallout 4” to the market, and the game was met with strong positive responses from fans. Many were actually impressed with how the studio had handled the sequel after a lot of worrying that it might not turn out entirely like people were hoping to see it. In the end, the game did have its quirks but fans cherished the release.

Now that people have had a chance to satisfy their craving for some post-apocalyptic action and have been playing around in the world of “Fallout 4” for some time, most heads are turned in another direction – the “Elder Scrolls” franchise. We have no idea what’s going on behind the doors of Bethesda with regards to this series, other than a variety of rumors that have been going around for some time now. Most people are completely in the dark about the series at the moment, but any fan of Bethesda knows that this is pretty typical for the studio, as they generally so a good job keeping their major developments secret.

The main rumors about the sixth installment in the franchise claim that it might actually have to come with a delay, although we don’t know if that’s due to development issues or because the studio simply needs more time to pull off all plans that they have lined up for the game.

In any case, it’s probably reasonable to expect that the game won’t be ready for at least another couple of years or so, even more when considered in the context of Bethesda’s typically slow development pace. The studio likes to take their time with their releases and that’s no secret to anybody, but so far they haven’t failed to live up to the expectations of their fans after those long waiting periods.

When exactly can we expect to see the game though? Most rumors are talking about a possible 2019 release, but it’s not clear if those rumors take the alleged delay into consideration. It does sound plausible that we could see the game released in about three years as that seems to be a reasonable timeframe for the development of a major project, and it’s also important to remember that Bethesda could have been working on “Fallout 4” for some time already. So in this context, its development could actually span over an even greater period of time.

Such prolonged development cycles are quite normal for Bethesda, as after all the studio is known for their large, expansive worlds, and those take some time to craft properly. Fans of the company are quite used to the idea that they have to wait a long time between releases at this point, so this should hardly surprise anyone, and as long as the final result is worth the wait, fans will be more than happy to sit around patiently. The release of “Fallout 4” inspired a lot of confidence in the studio’s fans and gave them reassurance that Bethesda haven’t lost their way.

The company also has other things on their plate right now too, and it’s not just the development of the next “Elder Scrolls” game that they have to think about. Fans of “Fallout 4” are waiting for news about the first DLC of their title, and there are lots of rumors about what it might include and when it’s coming out. But the important thing to remember is that Bethesda are most definitely well occupied with work right now.
