Especially in the context of potentially having to pay for mods in the future, something which the studio attempted to do for “Skyrim”, but pulled back on the idea once they faced serious community backlash. They did claim that the marketplace for mods will be back though, so that left a bit of a sour aftertaste in people’s mouths.
We don’t know what they are planning to do with those mods exactly, but whatever their idea is, hopefully it doesn’t involve forcing players to pay for content that they pretty much need in order to play the game properly.
Because right now, whenever somebody is about to play “Skyrim” or “Fallout 3”/”New Vegas”, there is usually a swarm of posts telling them to install a variety of mods before starting the main game.
Otherwise, players are left with a somewhat unfinished experience and get the wrong impression about the game. We don’t know what the situation will be like with “Fallout 4” once it comes out – which is getting sooner and sooner – but it should be indicative of what we can expect to see from “The Elder Scrolls 6”, whenever that game is ready to be shown to the world. Bethesda are a studio that knows how to please its fans though, so hopefully they are working in the right direction.
