Elder Scrolls 6: Bethesda Unlikely to Release the Title Anytime in the Near Future, Fans Keeping Their Fingers Crossed

Pete Hines, Marketing Executive, Bethesda Softworks, urged gamers via Twitter to not expect any new information about Elder Scrolls 6 at the moment. This is not exactly a shocker for the fans who have waited for additional inputs from the makers numerous times in the past, but have been let down each time.

Hines’ announcement takes care of every rumor that has been doing the rounds for the past couple of months regarding Bethesda Game Studios, Bethesda Softworks’ sister concern. It had been previously speculated that the next installment would release around January 2016, although, no official word was available on this.

The Elder Scrolls 6 is based in Argonia, which is the last place in the movie title that was not covered by the Elder Scrolls franchise. The location is said to be swamp-like, instead of the winter landscape featured in Skyrim. Bethesda, in an earlier announcement, urged fans to help them out with the storyline.

Hence, we are sure that the game is in progress, although, the details are yet to be ascertained. Bethesda is presently rumored to be working on The Elder Scrolls Online, which is taking up most of the designers’ time and attention. Hence, Elder Scrolls 6 seems unlikely ay the moment. Bethesda Softworks’ track record shows that the firm takes at least half a decade to work on a new title. If they plan on heading down the same alley this time, we could be looking at a long waiting period.

Elder Scrolls Online is slated to be the first MMO in the company’s history and hence gamers have a lot of hopes pinned onto the title. The designers are planning on releasing the game on multiple next-gen consoles this time as both the previous games are available solely on the Xbox 360. However, the transition to the PS4 and Xbox One could still take a while.

Bethesda also needs to work on a multiplayer aspect of Elder Scrolls 6, as all their previous games focused extensively on single player mode. However, as the title suggests, Elder Scrolls Online could change this once and for all. However, the previous installments of the game have set high standards. Hence, the expectation levels are currently soaring, which makes the situation even more complicated for the team at Bethesda, as they need to fulfill these criteria.

Fans are also hoping for a multiplayer version built into Elder Scrolls 6 right from the start, which could be an interesting move considering popular demand. Would you like Bethesda to make such a change to the much-anticipated title?
