With the confirmation of the arrival of Ryu of “Street Fighter” on the fighting video game “Super Smash Bros 4” on the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS through DLC, an astute gamer and video compositor developed a video on Ryu delivering his patented and dreaded focus punch to every character in the fight roster of the game.
“Super Smash Bros 4” is also known as “Super Smash Bros” on Wii U/3DS and it was released in November last year.
The result was awesome, every character including the two upcoming ones – Roy of “Fire Emblem” and Lucas of “Mother 3” – went down hard after receiving Ryu’s focus punch.
The four minutes and 23 seconds video is the work of Master0fHyrule, who has previously anthologized all of the fairies in “The Legend of Zelda” video game series, the idle animations in dozens of 1990s video games, every battle pose and cry in “Pokemon’s” first two generations and a comparison of the final smashes between the current “Super Smash Bros” and “Brawl,” details Polygon.
At the end of the video, Master0fHyrule explained that he just did Ryu’s focus punch on one of the characters of “Super Smash Bros 4” and found the drop quite funny so he decided to do the same on all the characters of the video game. Either the characters fall on their face or on their backs but what makes the fan video really great is its one-frame per-second LCD-animated way it was made.
It was quite fun to watch indeed and the question know is who among the characters can actually withstand Ryu when he officially comes to “Super Smash Bros 4” soon.
Three new fighters
Ryu’s arrival to “Super Smash Bros 4” was announced during the recently-concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 and that he will be coming along with Lucas from “Mother 3” and Roy of “Fire Emblem” via DLC.
Ryu from “Street Fighter” and Roy from “Fire Emblem” are now available for download on the Nintendo gaming consoles along with Lucas who was reported to be coming to the fighting game in the last week of May.
Instead of just one, Nintendo surprised gamers of “Super Smash Bros” by simultaneously making available the three characters through DLC.
DLC is a new strategy for the “Super Smash Bros 4” of Nintendo and Lucas, Ryu, and Roy will just be the second, third, and fourth downloadable characters respectively, in the video game next only to Mewtwo.
The three will join other fighters in the video game that already include Mewtwo, Sakurai, Duck Hunt, Mega Man and many others.
Roy and Lucas are available for $3.99 on Wii U or Nintendo 3DS, or $4.99 for both game versions. Ryu, on the other hand, comes with the Suzaku Castle stage from Street Fighter, and is available for $5.99 on either gaming console or for $6.99 for both.
“Super Smash Bros will also get new Mii Fighter costumes soon from other video games like “Virtua Fighter,” “Tekken,” and “Animal Crossing.” The Dreamland stage from the original “Super Smash Bros” for Nintendo 64 will likewise return to the Wii U and 3DS along with a few tweaks.
