Keeping the Kardashians doing the top-rating reality show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” for another four seasons is costly but may be worth it for the E! network.
The reality show will be premiering for its Season 10 on March 1 but even before it starts airing, fans would be happy to know that the Kardashians have agreed to a contract extension with the E! channel.
Apparently, the Kardashian matriarch and momager Kris Jenner has been in negotiations with top executives of the network after the end of Season 9 last year and reports have it that she and her entire family are planning to bolt out from the network if her demands are not met, hinted jacarandafm.
Since the show premiered on the E! channel in 2007, it has been enjoying high ratings for its selfies, belfies and reality drama that prompted the network to offer the Kardashians a whopping $100 million deal for the next four years including this year.
The deal is by far, the highest ever entered into by the E! network and it sure made matriarch and momager happy.
A source close to the Kardashians revealed that the family were not planning on leaving E! but Kris Jenner had to play hardball during the negotiation so that the network would give in to her demands, notes US Weekly.
Because of the immense popularity of the reality show, and nearly all the lady cast members including Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashians, Kris, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, it was obvious that it was the network that needed them the more. And that is why the $100 million deal, which was pretty fair.
Staying with the juggernaut
The Kardashian ladies will surely be back for the next four seasons of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” starting with Season 10 on March 1. But there was no mention whether reclusive brother Robert Kardashian and sexually-challenged patriarch Bruce Jenner will stay on beyond the current season.
Scott Disick and Kanye West will also be staying with the reality show as their relationships with Kourtney and Kim respectively have been played to the hilt almost to no end that nobody actually knows whether it’s not true or it’s just for the show.
Latest reports have it that Bruce Jenner will be starring on his own docu-series to focus on his rumored sex change.
As for the women of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” there is more than enough drama for all of them to keep the show’s plot really going for the next four years.
Kim remains to be the most photographed woman in the world, not counting her own millions of selfies. Kourtney’s troubled relationship with Scott continues to make the headlines. Khloe has served as a post-awards show host and fashion correspondent. Kendall is doing great with his modelling career while Kylie is not about to stop her plan of becoming an actress. Kris Jenner is also in a relationship of her own.
The deal with E! does not prevent the Kardashians from venturing into other shows that they may want to consider later on. And it seems that many in the Kardashian women are actually looking towards that direction.
