There is little chance that you are not aware of the television show, Duck Dynasty. If you have even watched just one episode, you are aware that the family is very outspoken in their beliefs and quite political at the same time. When the cast of the popular reality show are not preparing for the next season of the show, they are speaking to the public about a variety of topics. Being from Louisiana, it appears that Jep and Jessica Robertson are going to be backing governor Bobby Jindal as he runs for president.
Jindal just announced that he would be running for president this week and even though he only has a small percentage of the Republican vote, it would appear that the cast of Duck Dynasty is on board with is campaign. This information came from an interview that Jep and Jessica did with Fox411 this week when Jep declares that Jindal is a “great dude” and one that has good family and is very transparent.
Other than Jep and Jessica, there are a couple of other Duck Dynasty stars that are also friends with Jindal and his wife. Willie Robertson and his wife also said they were good friends and will to back him for his run to the White House in 2016. Willie said that anyone that comes to watch an episode of Duck Dynasty being filmed is a “frontrunner” in my book. Jindal and his wife have been on Duck Dynasty in the past and Willie says that he is a “good” man and a “Godly” man.
Jep said that he would definitely vote for him and it appears that Jindal is the kind of guy that the every day man can relate with. Jindal gained a little following when he announced his campaign saying that he is going to “do things that you cannot do in Washington” and “say things that you cannot say” which might have something to do with the defending of Phil Robertson’s comments about the LGBT community last year. Phil Robertson made comments about the LGBT community in an interview with GQ and was quickly suspended from the show by the A&E network.
Jindal defended his comments saying that he remembered a time when television networks were OK with the First Amendment. He also went on to say how sad it was that Miley Cyrus gets a good laugh, but Phil Robertson gets suspended. It is that way of thinking that is likely to get Jindal a good percentage of the vote, but at the same time it is a grey area that the public might not be willing to even get close to.
