The fighting role-playing game “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” shall be officially hitting the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC on October 25.
Game developer Bandai Namco has not only been teasing the gameplay over the last few months, it is also revealing the contents of “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” and reports have it that more contents shall be disclosed as the game’s grand release date approaches, notes Mobile & Apps.
“Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” is the sequel to “Dragon Ball Xenoverse” and during the Gamescom 2016 held in Cologne, Germany less than two weeks ago, it became obvious to gamers that the gameplay of the upcoming game is similar to the first game.
However, “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” plays out with a smoother mechanic and easier control compared to its predecessor game.
Focus on Single Player
Also based on the preview of the gameplay of “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, it seems that the focus of the game is indeed on its Single Player mode.
The Single Player mode of “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” will have more parallel quests, a new system for rare items drops, costumes, and accessories for the playable characters.
The developers at Bandai Namco still gave the multiplayer mode a nice facelift with the Expert Mission, which lets players team up to take down boss characters.
While there is not much information regarding which bosses players shall be able to take on in the multiplayer mode, the video teaser shows a number of popular Dragon Ball villains that might demand teamwork including Oozaru, Broly, and some powerful villains like Goku Black.
The Expert Mission mode may also feature special mechanics in order for players to handle certain bosses. Based on the video teaser, players can actually hold Oozaru’s tail, or opt to bombard him with Ki blasts.
The open beta of “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” is now available for download so gamers who want to try out the game early and provide their initial feedbacks to Bandai Namco could play the game after downloading it from their respective platform stores like the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, and Steam.
Plenty of characters
If “Dragon Ball Xenoverse” had a lot of characters, there will be more on “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.” Based on the disclosure made by the game developer over the last couple of weeks, the game shall feature Gogeta, Towa, Janemba, and Turles and they will be joining the likes of Majin Vegeta and Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta.
Other characters include Future Gohan, Future Trunks, Super Saiyan Gogeta, Meta Cooler, Super 17, Whis, Beerus, Slug, Bardock, Zarbon, Dodoria, Android 16, and Frieza.
Goku Black shall come as a pre-order bonus for “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.”
An element that will not be present in “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” is the Kaioken version of Super Saiyan Blue Goku, who recently appeared in “Dragon Ball Super” video game.
In addition, future characters, which are based on the requests of gamers shall also come to the game via DLCs, which is similar to what happened to Nintendo’s “Super Smash Bros 4.”
According to reports, Bandai Namco might not include some iconic characters from the original “Dragon Ball” canon including Kid Goku, Kid Krillin, Master Roshi, Buu’s absorbed forms, any of Frieza’s pre-final transformations and even the second form of Cell, details the Vine Report.
The same reports also said that plans could, however, change if the gamers request for their favorite ones.
It is expected that there might also be fighters from “Dragon Ball GT” that might come to “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” including a version of Goku in his child form, Super 17, and even Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta, who incidentally was the pre-order exclusive bonus for “Dragon Ball Xenoverse.”
As far as the gameplay of “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” is concerned, producer Masayuki Hirano explained in an interview during Gamescom 2016 that the game’s storyline is expected to be similar to the previous Xenoverse with additional features to provide more hours of gameplay.
He also explained that there will be a World Tournament that will also be featured, which would not have any ring outs.
