The release of “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” will be an important one not only for fans of the original, but for the gaming industry as a whole. The game looks like it has the potential to draw in large crowds of players, even those who weren’t actual fans of “Dragon Ball” itself beforehand. And so far, we’ve been getting various positive reports from the developers that seem to indicate smooth progress behind the scenes.
We’ve just seen new screenshots of the game showcasing its character customization options, as well as some of the characters themselves. In addition, we’ve also been hearing various interesting reports about the 6-player mode that’s coming up, and many players seem particularly excited for that.
At the same time, there have been some critical comments from fans as well, and it looks like the developers will have to specifically address some issues if they want this game to get good reception.
For example, Super Sayan spam has been a common problem with the title ever since players have had a chance to check it out, and while it does seem like the developers are planning to address that for the final release, they didn’t specifically mention anything about it.
According to some players, the problem’s existence is even more perplexing in light of the fact that it was there in the first game, and the developers should be well aware of it by now, and should have had some plans to fix it in the very first place.
It’s still possible that they have something lined up to stop the spam and they’re just waiting for the game’s actual release to introduce the new feature. It would be a bit strange if that’s the case though, as the people behind “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” should be well aware of the impact of this problem on fans’ impressions right now.
It does seem like they’ve been pushing the game in the right direction in various other ways though, for example by adding lots of extra customization options. Players have been asking for more personalization features for some time now, and it looks like the second game in the series is specifically going to address that.
The developers actually claim to be taking this one step further, as they are aiming to include a system for total customization in the new title. In other words, players should be able to pick whatever kinds of clothes they want to wear, without having to worry about how they will affect their performance.
We’ve seen other games tackling this problem in various ways. “Terraria”, for example, allows players to wear various pieces of armor in a “vanity” slot, where they have priority for the character’s appearance, but at the same time don’t affect their stats in any way.
We’re sure that the people behind “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” will figure out a way to give players the freedom of customization they want without compromising the core gameplay, so we’ll have to be patient and wait for the game to come out to see.
At this point, this isn’t that far away, as the release date is scheduled for October 25. There are no indications of potential delays or other similar issues, so we have no reason to believe that the game will come out at a later stage. At the same time, fans should always keep an eye out for rumors of possible problems behind the scenes, as that could indicate something bad is coming up on the horizon.
