Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Dominates Predecessor Video Game in Terms of Sales; Ships 4 Million Units Less than Two Weeks from the Game’s Official Release Date!

Japanese game developer Bandai Namco has come out with another big winner with its fighting video game “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” which rolled out to the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC beginning on October 25.

Less than two weeks since the game’s official release date to the gaming consoles and the PC, “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” has already dominated its predecessor video game “Dragon Ball Xenoverse” by shipping more than four million units as of this time, reports Gematsu.

“Dragon Ball Xenoverse” reached 1.5 million units sold nearly a month after its release date to the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360, and the PC in February last year.

As early as five days after the official release date of “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2,” Bandai Namco already announced that the game has outpaced its predecessor when it sold 1.4 million units.

The game was just launched on the PlayStation 4 in Japan on November 2 and it is expected  that the home market sales would contribute to its massive global sales figure before November 25, or one month after it officially came out worldwide.

First patch for the game

Incidentally, Bandai Namco was looking to release a Day 1 patch for “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” on October 26 but the update was still in the works then so the Japanese game developer decided to release it  one week later instead or on November 1.

The first update is called Patch 1.02 and it includes plenty of improvements to the fighting game considering that it has a 700 MB file size, details iDigital Times.

Patch 1.02 has improved lag and synch issues during online play, changed default setting when executing quick match and search, shortened duration of load sequence, adjusted parameters to balance battle, and other minor bug fixes.

Bandai Namco also took to Steam last week to announce the arrival of the first patch to “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” as well as some of the things that it is working on for future patches and updates to the game.

Some of those that the Japanese game developer mentioned include the missing DLC for Steam users. The DLC includes Goku Black and Future Trunks. game balances for Male Majin, and the Awaken Power form of Namekians have also been implemented.

Controller issues, Depths of Despair Expert Mission Giant Ki attack issue, English voice-over issues, and crash and launch issues for Steam users are also being addressed by Bandai Namco.

With the game just launched less than two weeks ago, players should expect more patches and updates to come from the developer.

Comes with plenty of freebies

When “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” was released last week, gamers got excited because it came with a number of amazing freebies.

In Europe, the game came with a collector’s and deluxe editions as well as pre-order bonuses. Those who bought the collector’s edition for either the PlayStation 4 or the Xbox One gaming platform also got a 34-centimeter Son Goku figurine with exclusive coloring as well as a Time Patroller’s guide.

PlayStation 4 console owners were also given early access to play future Trunks for those who purchased the deluxe edition. In addition, they were also given a season pass to access four content packs which include playable characters, additional quests and episodes, costumes, skills, master quests, and accessories.

The story of “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” revolves around the characters protecting the history of the “Dragon Ball” universe in the game. The group of guardians who have the task to do this is the Time Patrollers who have to travel through time to protect history from being changed.

Gamers and critics who had the opportunity to play “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” say that the game is a pure and unadulterated fan service from game developer Bandai Namco.
