Some players have been hopeful that we would find out more about specific gameplay mechanics in depth as the release date approaches, as there is definitely a lot that the developers can say about how the gameplay will work.
But on the other hand, they are most likely keeping their fans in suspense on purpose, as this helps build up excitement. This is clearly noticeable in the various discussions about the game on the Internet, and the mystery factor does help generate more discussion.
At least we got some insight into the story of the game through a recently revealed trailer, which made it clear that the writing team behind this title is definitely on par with what fans should expect.
After all, the plot has always been a central point in the “Dragon Ball” series and it’s important to have a fully fleshed-out story, instead of focusing on solid gameplay mechanics. The game should work well and feel fun to play – it’s a game, after all – but long-time franchise fans definitely wouldn’t pay much attention to it if it looked like its story was shallow and uninspiring. On the other hand, we’ve only seen a trailer so far – we’re yet to see what the actual story will be like in terms of writing quality and depth.
