After much anticipation, we finally have the official release dates for “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” across different platforms. The game is scheduled for the end of October for both PC and consoles, but PC gamers will have to wait a few days extra for the Steam release. October 25 is the big day for players on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, followed by a PC release three days later on the 28th. The good news keeps coming too – it looks like the developers are planning to pay special attention to old-school fans of the “Dragon Ball” franchise, and it’s been revealed that DJ Steve Aoki will have his own appearance in the game.
Not just through his music though – while he will be providing some fresh tracks (with plenty of references to original tunes from the franchise), he will actually have his own non-player character, giving gamers an opportunity to interact with him in Conton.
Steve Aoki himself seems quite excited to be part of the production, describing how the franchise has been a part of his life as he was growing up – and joining the development of “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” was subsequently an obvious choice for him.
The excitement can be felt all throughout the production crew, as others seem just as happy to have their names in the credits of this title, including Eric Hartness. It looks like the people behind this project are betting a lot on its success, so hopefully the final release will justify all the current hype.
There are a few months to go before the game hits the shelves, and that gives Bandai Namco plenty of time to get their fans even more hyped up. Not that they would need to put any special effort into that anyway, as the game is currently enjoying quite the strong popularity in online gaming communities, with plenty of people excited to see it out.
Discussions have been focused on various aspects of the production, with some special focus on the character customization features that have been revealed so far. The game will come with a significant upgrade to the visual experience, making full use of what modern hardware has to offer, but at the same time it looks like the art directors have done a fine job preserving the natural art style of the “Dragon Ball” universe.
With that in mind, and the brand new hub city of Conton being brought into the mix, this game should have a lot to offer. Not just to those already familiar with the “Dragon Ball” franchise, either – it looks like it has the potential to be an interesting experience for gamers completely unaware of it too.
The new game has so far been confirmed to feature most of everyone’s favorite characters, so it should definitely have a lot to offer to those who’ve been following the franchise for a longer time. We’ve also seen some rumors that the producers are hoping to expand the “Dragon Ball” universe in certain ways with this installment, but nothing concrete has come out on that front so far.
It’s definitely possible that we could see some newly introduced major characters. One of the great things about the “Dragon Ball” franchise is that it’s so flexible and it’s not hard to throw new elements into the mix, even after it’s been around for a while. Exploring it in different mediums (such as video games) certainly helps as well, and it’s also a great way to reach a broader audience.
