‘Dragon Age: Inquisition’ Latest Patch Brings New Multiplayer Features and a Tutorial Level

Game developer BioWare recently released Patch 8 to the role-playing game “Dragon Age: Inqusition” that had fans of the massively popular fantasy game franchise quite excited and delighted.

The latest update brings forth new multiplayer features and a new tutorial level to cater to both veteran gamers and those who are new to the game.

Patch 8 also comes with enhancements on multiplayer stability as well as the ‘Save Importer’ feature that enables players to move single-player saved games and multiplayer data to new consoles, details Venture Capital Post.

The new ‘Save Importer’ function will be vital for gamers who have decided to purchase a new gaming console and want to transfer their saved game from the old platform to the new one.

Acting on players’ clamor, Patch 8 also comes with the bigger multiplayer challenge called “Nightmare Difficulty” that also comes with rare high-level weapons, some of which came from the Avvar clans.

In order to cater to the upstart gamers of “Dragon Age: Inquisition,” a new feature called “Proving Grounds” has also been introduced. It is a tutorial level that allows players to test class, abilities and load-out as they prepare to do multiplayer battle.

“Proving Grounds” can be accessed from the class-selection screen and gamers can actually play their own multiplayer character with a team of Artificial Intelligence bots for the first time.

Those who have been playing the game for quite some time can opt to use “Proving Grounds” in order to try out some specific mechanics and discover new strategies that they can use in the game later on.

BioWare said that “Proving Grounds” is meant to ease gamers’ way into multiplayer battle. It is ideal for both gamers trying multiplayer for the first time and those seasoned players who want to test out a new character or weapon.

Revolutionary LBGT content

Meanwhile, BioWare drew positive reviews and response from both gamers and critics when it incorporated into the game a revolutionary LBGT (lesbians, bisexuals, gays, and transgenders) content.

In particular, critics actually laud gaming’s breakout gay character Dorian, which game creators describe as fully gay.

While there have been a few gay characters in previous video games, but in almost all cases, they were only queer if the player specifically made the choice that they should be. Dorian is the first major example of a character that could only be gay.

The character’s storyline is that which could be considered as an ex-gay. His father previously attempted to reform his sexual orientation but Dorian run away from home. Years later in the game, players can opt to help Dorian reconcile with his apologetic father or remain estranged.
