Malavan coach Dragan Skocic is set to leave the Anzali-based football club. According to reports, Malavan president Mahjoub is unhappy with the performance of Skocic. Nosrat Irandoust has been appointed as the new head coach of Malavan.
It is worth mentioning that Dragan Skocic was rated as one of the top foreign head coaches in the Iran Pro League by analysts. Under his leadership as head coach, Malavan finished seventh in the IPL.
“Skocic was an energetic and intelligent football coach. He managed to coach Malavan in the best possible way during his stay in Anzali. I strongly believe that chances are good that he has already received job offers from other clubs in the IPL,” Mohammad Hossein Pakdoust said in an interview with the Master Herald.
Dragan Skocic has already managed a number of clubs in the Middle East region. From 2009 to 2011, he used to manage Al Arabi FC of Kuwait and Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia. It is worth noting that Rijeka secured two trophies under the management of Skocic.
According to Mohammad Hossein Pakdoust, Skocic may continue his coaching career in Iran. “In my opinion, Croatian football coaches have managed to establish good reputation in Iran’s football. The Iranian national football team has already participated in three FIFA World Cups, and two of them were achieved under the leadership of Croatian coaches.”
It is good to know that Dragan Skocic had declared his interest in managing the Iranian national football team. Branko Ivanković and Tomislav Ivić were the former Croatian head coaches of Team Melli.
“Iranian football clubs need to recruit experienced and successful coaches, if they are determined to secure their success. So I personally think that Skocic may continue his coaching career in Iran.” Pakdoust concluded.
