Fellowes confirmed that Season 6 of “Downton Abbey” will definitely be the show’s last but he is not sure really if fans have seen the last of the “Downton Abbey” characters. He obviously refuses to disclose other details lest he pre-empts some future spin-offs of the TV series.

The show creator also revealed that the central theme for the upcoming Season 6 of “Downton Abbey” is all about resolution.

He said that the final season will tie all the loose ends so viewers should expect that most of the storylines and subplots on the TV series during the past seasons will finally have their concluding stories.

Fellowes, however, said that not everything has to be tied up, adding that there are main themes that needed to be closed. He said that the idea is for the fans to feel contented after watching the final episode of Season 6 and not feeling cheated at all.

It is common that when a TV series or a movie ends, there are still questions that were left unanswered, making viewers and fans feeling ripped off. That would not happen with the Season 6 of “Downton Abbey” because he does not want that, Fellowes assured.

But he likewise hinted that the endings on each of the characters of the series may either be happy or unhappy, depending on their respective stories.
