Katie Holmes took a surprising swipe at ex-husband Tom Cruise for the actor’s inability to be with their eight-year-old daughter Suri on Christmas Day.
While initial reports have it that the actor spent Christmas Day with his ex-wife and their daughter Suri, a representative of 36-year-old Katie Holmes quashed all those rumors by saying that the 52-year-old actor was not with Katie and Suri that day.
The representative of the actress went on to add that Katie and Suri spent their Christmas Day afternoon visiting children at a local hospital in Los Angeles, reports ABC News.
Initial reports hinted that Katie actually invited Tom for Christmas Day afternoon with Suri but the “Mission: Impossible” star did not show up. Thus, the loud ‘Hell no!’ answer with matching raised eyebrow from her representative when she was asked whether Tom and Katie spent Christmas Day together with Suri.
The Stir also went on to hint that the actress’ representative even remarked that Tom was nowhere around and threw back a rhetorical “Are we clear” question.
Moving on from the divorce
Late in October 2014, in another report of ABC News, Katie Holmes spoke about her divorce with Tom Cruise in 2012 after five years of marriage.
Katie claims that she has moved on from all the attention she got after splitting from a high-profile celebrity like Tom Cruise. She stated that she does not want her life to be defined by her divorce with Tom, saying that she was an actress before she got married, an actress when she was married, and would still be an actress after her marriage was officially over.
She said that compared to the time when she was still married to Tom, Katie says she no longer has fears the way she used to have. She also says that she no longer have a lot of rules for herself and takes her life easy these days.
The actress says she is continuously learning every day and being a mother is the most important of that daily learning. Although very young, Suri is getting a lot of attention from a lot of people obviously because of the stature of her parents in Hollywood.
To keep herself busy and back in the loop, Katie also ventured into cosmetics in collaboration with business partner Bobby Brown.
She is also into fashion design, which is one of her craft even before she became an actress. During a live interview with ABC News in New York, Katie said that she and her friends have been doing a lot of fashion shows together.
Katie has been doing her gigs in cosmetics and fashion designing in between her work as an actress. During the same interview, she mentioned that she was also doing a movie with Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges.
