Director of Fantastic Four Speaks about New Development Direction, Casting Choices!

Marvel’s “Fantastic Four” is getting rebooted, and the new film has been enjoying a lot of attention around the Internet, with various discussions being held on messaging boards, trying to figure out what the film is going to preserve from the original and how it’s going to handle its overall style. When the producers decided to release a trailer for their film, it received mixed reactions from the fan base, and it’s obvious that not everyone is on board for the new changes that have been announced.

Director Josh Tank has recently given an interview in which he wanted to clarify some points about the upcoming film, which is certainly a welcome move as there seems to be a lot of confusion going on around the community, with fans being generally unsure about how their favorite production will be handled.

In the beginning of the interview, Tank noted that he has been handling the production of this film very differently compared to his own films. He also stated that he wants to differentiate the new film from the original two, as he saw them as too cartoonish, close in style to many films that have come out recently.

And according to him, that similarity is not a good thing and he wants to try doing something different, a film that’s going to stand out and be able to get noticed on its own. He added that there is a lot of potential in the material he’s given to work with, and he would like to immediately have a clear direction for the production of the film instead of trying to basically “go with the flow”.

The overall tone of the film will be darker, more serious, and with more focus on character development and interesting plot progression. According to some critics, while there’s nothing bad about that by itself, it makes Tank’s claims a little strange, as he stated that he wants to differentiate the film from the majority of recent releases – and yet there has certainly been no shortage of dark-themed films in that area lately.

There are a few months to go until the film hits the screen, and it’s scheduled for a release on August 7. We’ll see the Human Torch played by Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara in the role of the Invisible Girl, and Miles Teller as Stretch. We’ll also see Jamie Bell as The Rock, and while the origins of the characters will be retold in the reboot as well, they will reportedly be altered a little from the stories given in the original films. How much they will differ exactly, we don’t know – and we likely won’t find out until August.
