More than one year after its release, the action role-playing game “Diablo III” continues to be one of the most played video games on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC, as well as in the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.
In order to keep the game dynamic and relevant, developer Blizzard Entertainment always comes up with occasional updates to the video game, which it has also broken down into several seasons, just like the typical four climatic seasons within a year.
The latest updates that came to “Diablo III” arrived through the highly-lauded Patch 2.3 released quite recently which brought new items and gameplay changes in time for the game’s Season 4. Most of all, Patch 2.3 brought back the Archon, one of the coolest builds of old times, and it is now stronger than ever too, notes Kotaku of Australia.
The new build focuses on the Wizard’s massive Archon ability, which has almost been forgotten in the game now, including the classic Wizards.
Enthusiastic “Diablo III” gamer and YouTuber Fevir published a video guide about Patch 2.3 to explain things related to the new Archon build which would be a big help to gamers especially when they reach the tough level 60 called the Greater Rift.
The build is also dependent on plenty of items which also came with the updates. It has tons of Life on Hit and Cooldown reduction as well as items like the Vyr’s set, a new Season 4 item called Fazula’s Improbable Chain, and Chantodo’s set. These gameplay items will contribute towards boosting the Wizard’s Archon ability.
Double cache weekend
Late last month, Blizzard held a weekend playing incentive for “Diablo III” gamers. For each full set of bounties players complete on the role-playing game, they were rewarded with double caches.
The reward applied to both Horadric and Bonus Caches and the special event took place on September 25 to 27, notes VG 24/7.
It was a nice event for gamers to move up into the game while getting rewards in the process and this early, they are now looking forward to the next “Diablo III” Double Cache weekend.
Best action RPG
“Diablo III” first came out in the PC and the Mac OS in May 2012, before a console version was released to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013. Subsequently, in August of last year, “Diablo 3” was released on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
Developed by Blizzard Entertainment, “Diablo III” holds the record as the fastest-selling PC game when it sold 3.5 million copies within the first 24 hours of its release in 2012. It eventually went on to become the best-selling PC game of 2012, selling over 12 million copies from the time it came out in May up to the end of the year.
“Diablo III” has since sold 15 million copies across all gaming platforms, indicating that since its year from its release on the PC and Mac, sales has significantly slowed down for the video game.
Despite its acclaim from both gamers and critics, the initial problems of “Diablo III” were well documented including server stability issues, an overbearing plot, lack of end game content, excessive difficulty, and the damnable auction house.
The game was also criticized for its digital rights management that requires an internet connection at all times before gamers can play the game.
Amid the criticisms, “Diablo III” still managed to hold its own against other action role-playing games or other video games in general because it is really a good game, which gamers can really attest to.
Blizzard has also never been remiss in releasing patch or updates which have addressed and eliminated the major problems of players on “Diablo III.”
