Diablo 4 Rumors Ramping Up, Could Blizzard Really Be Ready for Such a Major Announcement? Let’s See

It’s hard to tell how good that gameplay would be in modern times though, as a lot has happened since “Diablo 2” came out. Games like “Torchlight” and “Path of Exile” took the lead and expanded on the original ideas from “Diablo” significantly, and some fans of the franchise even claimed that “Path of Exile” was a better sequel than “Diablo 3”.

That might be an overstatement for most of the franchise’s fans, but still, hopefully Blizzard have been paying attention and they realize that other franchises have built on top of their own ideas quite successfully.

Blizzard can benefit a lot from incorporating some of those ideas into their own next game, but they should of course also be careful with this, as it can lead to a controversial response from the community.

The studio was already involved in some unpleasant situations like that, such as the one around “Dota 2”, but they seem to have calmed down a bit since then and are now more open to communicating with both their fans, as well as other developers. Which is certainly nice to see, for the studio’s own sake.

Still, the studio has been putting up various job postings that imply that something really is going on behind their doors. Whatever that might be, hopefully they plan on announcing it soon, as their fans have been getting more and more anxious in their anticipation. Sooner or later, that will start working against Blizzard, not in their favor as now.
