Diablo 3 is a role-playing game that was released for online play by Blizzard Entertainment back in 2012. The game was released and critics were giving it a positive review for the most part. The new game can be played on the Windows PC, OS X, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. When Diablo 3 hit the stores, it broke a record for selling the most copies within the first 24 hours of release with 3.5 million copies and was named the best selling PC game of 2012.
The year ended with Diablo 3 selling more than one million copies per month and over all platforms, Diablo 3 added another three million copies sold. Critics loved the game and gamers from all over the world could not wait to get their hands on the open world role-playing game. Some of the downfalls were called out including the uninterrupted internet connection, lack of game content and the the in-game auction house. In 2014, there was an expansion called Diablo 3: The Reaper of Souls and it came along in March.
It was available for Windows and Mac versions of the game and those that had the console version had to wait a little longer to get the same expansion. The Diablo 3 and the expansion have combined for more than 20 million copies sold worldwide, which puts it near the top when compared to other similar games. In recent news, the game is looking to get another patch, version 2.3, according to reports. The patch has been moved into the public test realm and that is only a few stops before public release.
Players in that realm are able to test new features before they are released to the public, but the downside is that the realm is not stable and could hinder your actual gameplay. Improvements to the game include Adventure Mode, with enhancements of all the classes that are available. A new zone is also included in the patch notes. The zone is a frozen wasteland that has plenty of enemies to battle, but an unforgiving environment as well loaded with traps and other hazards.
In the new area, the battles are pitted against the players as they move around to learn more about the story line behind Mount Arreat barbarians. Other improvements will include a better crafting system. This will make crafting an easier task and in Adventure Mode, rewards will be given out for those that complete bonus bounties. Just like all of the other role-playing games that are online these days, the crafting system is not an easy process, and it should not be, but it appears that players might have been concerned with it and wanted an easier option. Developers have answered in the new patch according to the notes.
