‘Diablo 3’ Patch 2.4 to Give Gamers the Opportunity to Master the Game’s Challenges Inside and Out!

A new update is coming very soon to the action role-playing game “Diablo 3” and it is going to be the game’s biggest to date.

Patch 2.4 of “Diablo 3” is now on the game’s public test realm so those gamers who can hardly wait for its release to their respective games on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC can already try it for themselves.

The update features a new zone called Greyhollow Island, two new expanded areas called the Eternal Forest and the Royal Quarters, and some new and different creatures that inhabit those regions, details Polygon.

Although Patch 2.3 was big for gamers of “Diablo 3,” Patch 2.4 is going to be larger, much to the excitement and delight of gamers.

Exciting new features to come with the patch

Two of the most exciting things that will come with Patch 2.4 will be the Set Dungeons and the Empowered Rifts, which both novice and experienced players can explore.

Alex Sulman, the senior designer of “Diablo 3,” said that Set Dungeons might seem like an end-game attribute, but it is a feature that they have worked really hard to make, which are designed where power does not matter so much. Players need not be in super high levels to beat them at all.

Game developer Blizzard Entertainment explains that Set Dungeons are designed to teach gamers how to play their class sets better. Empowered Rifts, on the other hand, lets players further upgrade their legendary gems.

Kevin Martens, the lead designer of “Diablo 3,” adds that the Empowered Rifts feature is actually a gold sink for gamers who have billions of gold, turning what many players have in surplus into something valuable in the end-game.

According to Blizzard, the release of Patch 2.4 is meant to give players the opportunity to learn and master their sets inside and out. The developer said that they will be introducing an entirely new set of challenges and once the players complete and don the full six pieces of any given class set, they will receive a clue to track down an ancient dungeon designed for their respective set, details Kotaku.

The developer further explained that the completely static dungeons are not randomized and it’s up to the gamers to decide how to best utilize their powers to complete the challenges.

A best-selling PC game

“Diablo 3” first came out in the PC and the Mac OS in May 2012, before a console version was released to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013. Subsequently, in August of last year, “Diablo 3” was released on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

Developed by Blizzard Entertainment, “Diablo 3” holds the record as the fastest-selling PC game when it sold 3.5 million copies within the first 24 hours of its release in 2012. It eventually went on to become the best-selling PC game of 2012, selling over 12 million copies from the time it came out in May up to the end of the year.

“Diablo 3” has since sold 15 million copies across all gaming platforms, indicating that since its release on the PC and Mac, sales has significantly slowed down for the video game.

Despite its acclaim from both gamers and critics, the initial problems of “Diablo 3” were well documented including server stability issues, an overbearing plot, lack of end-game content, excessive difficulty, and the damnable auction house.

Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls

The game was also criticized for its digital rights management that requires an internet connection at all times before gamers can play the game.

Amid the criticisms, “Diablo 3” still managed to hold its own against other action role-playing games or other video games in general because it is really a good game, which gamers really attested to.

Blizzard has also never been remiss in releasing patch or updates which have addressed and eliminated the major problems of players on “Diablo 3.”
