Even though the game started off on a bit of a shaky ground, “Diablo 3” has been improving quite a lot as Blizzard have been putting a lot of effort into polishing it and adding even more content for players to enjoy. It now offers various features that make it a great experience as a whole, and it can offer countless hours of fun to its players – at the same time, Blizzard regularly run special events meant to spice up the experience and give players something more unique to do, such as the most recent double Caches weekend that gave everyone some extra loot.
The event seems to have been tied to the recent addition of Kanai’s Cube to the game, a special item that allows players to craft new items, but of course that requires having some items to begin with, and Blizzard have given everyone a nice opportunity to earn some extra loot over the weekend.
This was valid for all completed bounties throughout the weekend, and from what we can tell from online messaging boards and communities, players were generally quite happy with the ability to score some extra loot, and many of them took advantage of the opportunity.
It’s worth noting that the new update introduced features which are not available on the old-generation console versions of the game, more specifically those on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, so players on those consoles also didn’t get the special extra loot bonus over the weekend. They did, however, get an additional bonus to their experience and gold – a double one, to be precise – to make up for the difference, but in the end they will have to get used to the fact that they aren’t getting all of the new features being added to “Diablo 3” over time.
It’s better to do it this way though, instead of limiting the game’s potential for everyone. Most of the community members seem to agree, and those playing on older consoles are also not that disappointment in those developments in general, as they see it as a way to experience a more “classic” version of the game without all the new changes that have been made to it over time.
Some have also been curious where the game – and the franchise as a whole – will end up, judging by the current trends of what Blizzard are doing with it. There was a lot of skepticism towards “Diablo 3” when it came out, aimed at different elements of the game, but in the end players toned down the negativity once they saw that it actually has something good to offer. It was still not as popular as “Diablo 2” among some fans, but that was expected. It would have been hard to compete with a game that was an absolute classic and something that players keep playing to this day, but “Diablo 3” still holds its own ground relatively nicely.
The fact that Blizzard stopped investing so much effort into the real-money action house gave a lot of hope to players, as that was the one feature that pretty much everyone disliked. It was seen as a tacky way to “solve” a problem that was never there in the first place, and many saw it as an attempt by Blizzard to turn the game into a cash cow. In the end, the situation ended up relatively okay, inspiring some players to look forward to the next game in the series.
