“Diablo 3” was met with some skepticism at its initial launch, and some old school fans of the franchise were convinced that Blizzard were handling it wrong and the game was doomed to fail. However, that was obviously not the case in the long run, as now the title is enjoying a lot of popularity and it still seems to have a lot of life left in it. Blizzard have been maintaining the game quite actively too, releasing various updates for it, and they’ve just entered the fourth season of the title.
The game’s online component has a season schedule, resetting “Seasonal Heroes” every time a new season rolls around, and this has been quite the enjoyable feature to many players. It allows players to easily try out different combinations and character builds without worrying so much about the permanence of their actions, as they know that their characters are going to be wiped when the next season comes anyway.
And those who take part in seasons can also benefit from various special challenges and rewards, with the fourth season being no exception. Blizzard have reportedly added even more new content to the game this time, with new Legendary items, a special new set, as well as exclusive achievements. As with the previous seasons, items attained during the season will be carried over to a regular permanent character at the end of the event, but characters themselves cannot be transferred across seasons.
Blizzard have been particularly keen on adding new items to the game for the seasonal part of its multiplayer, and this is one of the things most commonly requested by players too. It seems like those who play “Diablo 3” just can’t get enough of the variety of items that the game offers, and Blizzard have been working hard to keep them as happy as possible.
It’s also worth noting that those who play in the season will get access to some special new exclusive items that won’t even be officially revealed until the season is over, so if someone feels like their character’s build is missing some vital item, they should give the current season a try and see what they can come up with from the pool of new equipment that can be obtained.
All in all, Blizzard have obviously been trying to get back on the good side of their community after seemingly failing in the eyes of their fans for a little while. It’s true that the game came out in a very strange state, between the auction house and some changes to the gameplay which made players see it in a different light. Many people were convinced that Blizzard were just trying to milk a cash cow at that point, but thankfully that wasn’t the case in the end.
Currently, “Diablo 3” is in a very playable state and the game is actually quite enjoyable as a whole, offering various gameplay features improved over its predecessor, and overall a very balanced gameplay experience.
It still has some small quirks to be worked out, but the community has mostly gotten used to the state the game is in now, and people seem happy with what they have. And in the end, opinions about “Diablo 3” have noticeably shifted towards a more positive angle ever since Blizzard started releasing some more major updates for the game, and people have generally calmed down about its issues now, and have started to enjoy it a lot more.

At the end of each season, your character (items and crafting recipes) are migrated into your collection of characters/stash. They are not lost.
